Lily cleared her throat as she walked over to us. She picked up all the pictures and papers, shoving them back into the envelope.
“You need to talk to Hawk.”
I gaped at her in disbelief.
“Are you crazy?”
She shook her head.
“Nope. Talk to him and find out the truth, Savannah. Who gave you all of this?”
“Lloyd…”
The girls all gasped, and Lily just shook her head.
“Call the fucking cops and stop letting him walk all over you. Wanna win your case against him? Then grow a pair and stand up to him.”
Lilah stood and placed herself between Lily and I.
“Alright, I think we all need to take a break. Sav is going through some hard times and-”
Lily laughed. “And Hawk isn’t? I know the truth, but Savannah needs to be a big girl and face her demons by herself. I’m not here to coddle you. I give you the cold hard truth whether you like it or not.”
I shook my head and stood. “I think you all just need to leave. I need to be alone. I just... I can’t today.”
Bambi, Lilah, and Willow slowly stood and moved toward the front door. Luna and Lily stood there staring at me.
“I know the truth, but it’s not mine to tell. Go and talk to him, Savannah. He needs you right now.”
“I don’t fucking care. He should have told me. Hawk should have told me before! He hid this life from me and... and I don’t know if I can ever forgive him. You need to go, Lily.”
She grabbed her coffee and glared at me.
“Stop being such a stubborn bitch and go see him.”
I screamed as I turned to her. “Get out! Get the fuck out!”
Lily just shook her head as she walked away. I grabbed the muffin and threw it at her before collapsing on the couch in a fit of tears.
Looking up, Luna was standing there with her arms crossed.
“Throwing food like a child? Come on, Sav. Maybe she knows what she’s talking about. Can you give her a chance? She is your lawyer…”
I barked out a sarcastic laugh. “Yeah. Give her a chance. I would rather face Lloyd in court alone before sitting next to her again. Can’t anybody just listen to me?”
“We are. But we also know there’s two sides to every story. Maybe you need to sit back and think about everything. I mean, Lloyd is the one who dropped those off…”
I shook my head. “I just don’t know, Luna! Why didn’t he tell me? Why didn’t any of them tell me? And the pictures of the girls…”
“Why don’t we ask the guys? Maybe they can help.”
“Luna. I just need to be alone.”
She moved closer to me and put her hand on my arm.
“I know you’re hurting, but don’t push your friends away. Let us help.”
I stood up and crossed my arms.
