Hawk
Iwokeupasthe sun was rising and snuck out of bed. Savannah was still sleeping so peacefully, and I didn’t want to wake her up.
Looking through her cabinets, I noticed she didn’t have any coffee or breakfast foods. I grabbed my keys and headed out the door.
I was gonna surprise my woman with fancy coffee and shit. I wasn’t so good with words, but I was damn good at buying nice things for Sav.
Walking down the steps, I came to my bike to see a manila envelope sitting on the seat. I looked around to see if anybody was around or watching. Not seeing anything, I grabbed it and quickly opened it.
Pictures and news articles from my past flew out, and I struggled to catch them all. I felt this huge pit in my stomach as I looked over everything.
News articles describing what I did, pictures of me at rock bottom, it was all laid out to paint me out as the bad guy. As I flipped through them, I came across a handwritten note.
'Leave Savannah and she’ll never know who you really are. But mark my words, if you stay I will reveal the true you; an evil, manipulative, sadistic man. Save yourself and the others.'
I growled and shoved everything back into the envelope, stuffing it all in my saddlebag. Forgoing the bike, I walked down the street to the small coffee shop.
I grabbed whatever the barista suggested and headed back to Savannah’s apartment. Hopefully she was still sleeping and I could try to turn this day around.
Before I got back, I quickly sent a text to Striker, letting him know I had some shit he needed to see. I made my way up the stairs and slowly opened the front door.
Closing it behind me, I walked back to the bedroom to see Savannah still curled up and sleeping. I smiled and kicked my shoes off before sitting at the bottom of the bed.
Savannah stirred and then opened her eyes, smiling up at me.
“Morning, sleepyhead. Brought you some of that fancy coffee shit you like. Oh, and scones they had.”
She sat up and moved closer to me, placing her lips on mine. I set the coffee and bag down on the floor and pulled her face closer to mine.
Savannah moaned as I slipped my tongue past her sweet lips. Just as I slid my hands up her tank, my phone went off.
I groaned and Sav laughed as she rolled off the bed and grabbed her coffee. Grabbing my phone, I slid my finger to answer.
“Yo.”
Striker laughed on the other end.
“Why do you sound so annoyed, brother? You’re the one calling me.”
“Yeah, yeah. I was fucking busy.”
He laughed some more, and I smiled as Savannah walked past me, slowly stripping her clothes on the way to the shower.
“Oops. You can fuck your woman later. Get to the clubhouse and show me what you got. Are we gonna need to call church?”
“Up to you, Pres. It’s personal but has to do with Sav.”
I could hear the water running and just wanted to jump right in and run my hands all over Sav. Striker’s voice brought me back to reality.
“Let’s see what you got first and then go from there. Be there in ten.”
“Got it.”
I hung up just as Savannah came walking out in a towel.
“What was that about?”
I sighed. “Club business, baby. I gotta head to the clubhouse in a few.”
