He growled and slammed his hand against the dumpster. “I can do whatever the fuck I want! Drop the charges, Savannah.”
I shook my head. “No.”
“Drop them! Things are going to get ugly if you don’t. Do you really want to bring this war to your friend’s doorstep? I told you I would destroy them all. Ronnie told me you told him no as well. Guess they’re all going down, babies and all.”
The backdoor flew open and Moose stood on the other side. “You, motherfucker.”
He launched at Moose, and they tumbled to the pavement. I turned and ran inside to get help. Just as I got to the front, Hawk came walking in the front door.
He turned to smile at me, then saw my sheer look of panic. “Baby, what’s wrong?”
“Lloyd and Moose are out back fighting!”
Hawk ran past me and I followed close behind. Moose and Lloyd were fighting outside on the ground. Hawk ran over and pulled Moose off, then kicked Lloyd in the stomach.
Lloyd curled up into a ball and sneered up at Hawk and Moose. Hawk spit down near Lloyd’s face.
“Get the fuck out of here before I make you fucking disappear.”
Lloyd laughed, then coughed before looking up at the both of them.
“Try me, asshole. I know what you fucking did. I know who you are...Wyatt. So play your stupid games and see what happens.”
Hawk went pale and Moose pushed him back, grabbing Lloyd by the collar of the shirt.
“Get the fuck off my property, Lloyd. Don’t ever show your face around here again.”
Lloyd slowly hobbled away while glaring at all of us. Moose shook his head and walked past Hawk and I.
I could hear him yelling in the diner. “We’re closed. Take your meals and go, don’t worry about paying the bill.”
I turned to Hawk and tilted my head. “What is he talking about, Hawk? How did he know your name?”
He just growled and ran his hand down his face. “Shit, I did in the past. Let’s fucking go, Sav.”
He roughly grabbed my arm, and I pulled back, stumbling away from him.
“No.”
Hawk turned on his heel and glared at me.
“We need to get to the fucking clubhouse now. I’m not fucking playing games, Savannah. Get to my bike and shut up.”
I shook my head. “I’m not going anywhere with you speaking to me like that. If you’re going to treat me like Lloyd does, then this is over. I’m never putting myself in a situation like that again.”
Hawk sighed and sat down on the concrete stoop. “Fuck, Sav. I’m trying to protect you. You’re my Old Lady and we need to tell the club what happened.”
“You didn’t even ask if I was okay. So you can take me to my apartment, then come see me when you cool off. Maybe think about who’s the priority here. Am I only worth something to you if I’m this helpless damsel in distress?”
“Fuck.”
I walked past him and headed out front to his motorcycle. Putting my helmet on, I hopped on and waited until he came sulking out the front door.
He hopped on and revved the engine, taking off right away. My apartment was only a quick ride and I could have walked, but I knew I was safer with Hawk.
Hawk parked out front, and I hopped off. “Just take some time to think about what happened. You don’t think before you speak and it hurts those around you.”
He took off without kissing me goodbye. I sighed and walked around to head up to my new place.
