I threw my hair up into a messy ponytail and put my old high top white chucks on. Hawk smiled and pulled me down onto the bed with him.
His hands held my hips as he nipped and kissed down my neck. “Can I pick you up after work?”
I held his face in my hands and kissed him. “Of course. It will be late but I would love that.” I looked at the small clock on the dresser and shot up. “Shit, we have to go! I’m gonna be late!”
Hawk laughed and followed me out the door. “You won’t be late with me driving, babe. Let’s go.”
We hopped on the motorcycle and Hawk took off down the driveway. He quickly got us to Main Street with minutes to spare.
I went to run into the diner when he grabbed my hand and pulled me back to him, crushing his lips to mine. His hands snaked around to squeeze my ass as he sat back on the motorcycle.
A small moan escaped my lips, and he pulled back, gazing up at me.
“Have a good day at work, pretty girl. See you later.”
Another quick kiss, and he hopped back on his bike and drove away. I stood there stunned before turning around and walking into the diner.
Gracie was standing there with her mouth wide open. I went to the back office to drop my purse, and she followed me, standing in the doorway.
“Girl. You better fucking spill the tea cause holy fucking shit. That was hot!”
I laughed as I pushed past her to get to work. I grabbed one of the white aprons and tied it around me, heading into the small galley kitchen.
I fired up the oven and turned to see Gracie leaning on the small counter, her eyes never leaving me.
“Fine! Fine. Our date was amazing. He was a perfect gentleman.”
“And…?”
I laughed as I started to bake our daily pie specials.
“And I stayed the night, and he blew my mind... twice.”
Gracie pumped her arms in the air and cheered. “Fucking right, girl! You get it!”
I laughed as she danced around the tiny kitchen. The bell above the door chimed, and Gracie danced her way out to help the customer.
Shaking my head and smiling, I turned back to my pies for tonight.
I knew there were some dark clouds coming for us, but I was so happy right now and wouldn’t let them bring me down.
As I stepped out of the kitchen, I saw one of Lloyd’s friends sitting at the counter. I took a deep breath and walked over.
“Hi. What can I get you today?”
He glared at me before speaking.
“I’m not here for anything. I’m here to give you a warning. You better get back to Lloyd before things get bad for you and your boyfriend.”
I shook my head and slowly backed up. “You need to leave. Lloyd and I are over and have a pending court case.”
The man laughed. “Yeah. That will get thrown out. But I’ll let Lloyd know you made your choice. I just hope you can live with destroying so many lives, bitch.”
He got up and walked out of the diner. I turned and ran into the hallway to the small office, running right into Moose.
“You okay, Sav?”
I shook my head as the tears fell.
