Goose was standing in the middle with his arms crossed and a foul look on his face. I groaned and turned to the coffee machine.
“You gonna tell her about your past?”
I shook my head as the machine squirted the black liquid out into a mug.
“I just fucking asked her on a date, man. Can I enjoy this before scaring the woman away? Sav isn’t like the others. She actually fucking means something to me.”
Goose half smiled and leaned on the table. “About fucking time. But in all seriousness, tell her before it’s too late. Take a lesson from my Old Lady and I; communication is fucking key. I could have saved Bambi and had her all to myself way longer if I had just listened to her the first time.”
I grabbed another mug and made more coffee as Goose went on.
“Just talk to her, brother. Bambi loves Savannah and so does Willow. All the women care about her and I know Luna has taken her under her wing. So do everybody a favor and don’t fuck this up. Plus, Moose ain’t gonna hold back if you hurt her.”
I sighed and moved to the fridge for creamer. “I know. I fucking know.”
Goose walked toward me and patted me on the back. “Glad we agree. Don’t forget we have Church this afternoon.”
He walked out the door and left me standing there with so much to contemplate. I groaned and walked back to the living room with both mugs in hand.
Savannah was sitting up, wrapped in a blanket, with the most beautiful smile on her face. Just seeing her made my morning so much better.
I brought over the coffee and leaned down to kiss her. Savannah happily sighed as our lips met. It was a soft, sweet kiss as she leaned up for more.
She took the mug in both hands and grinned as she brought her nose to the mug and took a deep breath.
“Smells amazing. I’ve never had anybody bring me coffee before. Thank you, Hawk.”
I sat down next to her as she moved closer to sit with me. “Anything for you, pretty girl. Do you have anything planned for this morning?”
Sav leaned her head on my shoulder. “Nope. Luna is gonna pick me up later so we can work on the apartment. What about you?”
“Church later, and that’s it before our date. How’s the apartment coming along? Are you having a good time with Luna?”
She sat up and looked at me with dreamy eyes and a gorgeous, full smile.
“Amazing! Luna is teaching me so much. Did you know she used to work for a construction company? She’s so fucking cool.”
I laughed as Savannah took a sip of her coffee.
“Do you know who’s gonna live there? What are they doing with the building?”
She nodded. “Luna bought it! It’s all hers. She even offered to let me rent the apartment. It has two bedrooms and a cute little bathroom. She’s not sure about the old bakery. Luna actually hired an entire team for that area. It was just too much for us.”
“And she lives in Bambi’s old apartment, right?”
“Yup!”
Heels clicked on the floor and we both looked up to see Lily standing there with a big grin on her face and stark white papers in her hand.
“Good news! I got the emergency restraining order against not only Lloyd, but Eckhart too!”
Savannah’s smile wasn’t as bright as a few seconds before. I stroked her back as Lily walked over and went over the paperwork with Sav.
“I know it’s overwhelming, and probably really scary. But this is all good. I promise I’m gonna nail this fucker. He’s gonna have some solid time behind bars for what he’s done to you.”
Savannah held the papers in her hand and just stared at them. I could feel her breaths getting faster and looked up at Lily.
“Can you get her some water?”
