“Thank you. I just... you all care about me so much and I don’t think I could live with myself if you guys got hurt.”
“I’m a big boy, Sav. Don’t worry. I’ll talk to Striker anyway and let him know what’s going on. You’re safe now, babe.” Hawk smiled down at me. “Anyway, I wanted to ask you to dinner.”
I walked over and opened the lid to the crock pot. “Already made some. Are you not staying for dinner tonight?”
He laughed and sauntered toward me. “Not like that, Sav. I wanna take you out to dinner. Like a date.”
Blush crept along my cheeks. “A date?”
Hawk just nodded while those daring blue eyes gazed at me, holding me in place.
“An actual date, babe. Me and you at a fancy restaurant.”
“Uhm... wow. That would be... that would be nice.”
Hawk just laughed as he kissed me on the cheek. “So, what did you make for dinner? Do you need my help with anything?”
I was still so stunned that I just stood there. “Dinner?”
Hawk squeezed my hip, sending sparks through my whole body. “Don’t worry, I’ll go look.”
As he passed me, Luna pulled me out into the hallway. “Holy shit, girl. That man is so fucking delish. After your dinner date, you better bang his fucking brains out. Whew! That sexual tension is something!”
“He asked me out to dinner. Like a date.”
Luna laughed as she slapped my ass and pushed me back into the kitchen.
“Because you’re a smoke show. He wants to see you naked in his bed and is crushin’ on you fucking hard.. Now get in there and let’s get dinner on the road, lady.”
I shuffled into the kitchen and got everything ready for dinner. Hawk had already set the table as I scooped the fiesta lime chicken into the bread bowls.
Footsteps sounded on the steps as the women came down. Hawk came back into the kitchen as they all took their seats.
“Go and start, I’ll have everything ready for you in here.”
I grabbed a few bowls and brought them out to the table. The women oohed and ahhed as I sat them down.
Going back into the kitchen, Hawk had the rest all ready for me. He just smiled as I hurried to bring them out.
With an exhausted sigh, I sat down and watched as the women devoured the dinner.
AsIsat, watchingthe women chat and eat, I thought of Hawk sitting alone in the kitchen. I stood at the head of the table and cleared my throat.
“As you ladies know, Hawk has been helping me out. I see you all peeking into the kitchen.” They all giggled among themselves. “Not so sneaky. Anyway, he’s been eating alone in the kitchen, so he didn’t trigger any of you. Would it be okay if he started eating with us at the table?”
They all nodded and grinned. Happy with their responses, I got up and made my way back into the kitchen.
Hawk hovered over his bowl and looked up at me.
“The women would like it if you would join us for dinner. You have helped every night.”
He put down his fork and gazed at me. “You sure? I don’t want to upset anybody.”
I nodded, and he stood to follow me into the dining room. The ladies went silent as he stood at the head of the table with me.
“Ladies, I would like to formally introduce you to Hawk. The man you’ve all been ogling from your windows and nooks in the house.”
Hawk almost blushed as they all laughed. I sat down and pushed the chair next to me open for him to sit. Hawk sat down with his dinner in front of him.
