“That’s all I need to hear, babe.”
“You wanna stay for dinner? I’m gonna start cooking every night and try to get these women out of their rooms to socialize.”
A huge grin spread across my face. “I would love to stay. What do you need help with?”
“You can chop the veggies. I’ll work on the meat.”
Savannah and I had a great time while we worked side by side. She showed me how to dice perfect cubes and how to create beautiful masterpieces made purely from food.
It amazed me at what this woman could do. She had no formal training, yet everything looked like it came from a five-star restaurant.
As we were finishing up, Sav left me in charge of setting the table while she went and invited all the women down. I followed her directions to a T. She wanted this to be perfect and so did I.
I heard the women coming down and quickly got back to the kitchen. There were some of them who still feared men and I didn’t want to ruin their dinner.
Savannah came into the kitchen with the biggest grin on her face.
“They are so excited! Can you help me move some things onto the plates?”
She showed me how to create each plate like it was a piece of art. They looked delicious as she brought them out to the dining room. Savannah came back in and made two more plates.
“One for me and one for you. I invited you to stay for dinner and it would be rude not to feed you.”
I took the plate and placed it on the counter behind me. Taking Savannah into my arms, I wrapped her in a hug, then kissed the top of her head.
“Thanks, babe. Now get out there and enjoy your dinner.”
Her entire face looked so much lighter and happier as she floated out to the dining room. I grabbed my plate and a bottle of beer and sat down at the table.
Biting into the food, I moaned as the delicious flavors of the chicken rolled over my tongue. Savannah was a fucking amazing cook.
I could hear the women laughing and talking in the next room. It brought joy to me knowing Savannah brought them together and was slowly helping them come out of their shells.
Despite her being hurt and healing on her own, she put herself aside to help others. Savannah was a survivor, not a victim.
An hour later, the women left to go back to their rooms. Once they were all gone, I went out to help clear the table.
Savannah was floating around like she was on cloud nine. She had a huge smile on her face as she turned to me.
“They loved it! And they all had such a good time! Some women have never had food that good. Can you believe that?”
I leaned on the doorframe as she danced around the room. Savannah was in heaven and I was getting the show of a lifetime; a gorgeous woman finally letting herself be free.
I helped clean up the dining room as we moved to clean the kitchen. Savannah put on the radio and danced around asSweet but Psychoby Ava Max came on.
I couldn’t help but move along to the beat of the song as Savannah danced around me. Her smile and good feeling were infectious as we cleaned and danced together.
She bounced around me as she sang a few lines to me, using a large serving spoon as a makeshift microphone.
I threw my head back and laughed as she danced away from me. The song was coming to an end as we finished loading the dishwasher.
Leaning back on the counter, I watched Savannah wipe down the counter to the last notes of the song. She looked back at me and just smiled. Her gorgeous green eyes were filled with joy and light.
“Thanks for helping... and letting me live out my own little concert.”
I laughed again. “You can dance and sing for me anytime, babe. You brought me out of my comfort zone but it was a good feeling.”
She playfully bowed. “I’m here for your entertainment. Feel free to join me live in concert anytime.”
