She nodded. “I’m fine.”
He glared at me and then turned back to Savannah. “I’ve got my truck here and some new pictures of the kids. I’ll give you a ride home.”
Savannah smiled. “That would be great. Thank you, Moose.”
Without even looking back, she walked out the door and toward Moose’s truck. He grabbed the collar of my cut and pulled me close to his face.
“You better fucking swear to me you didn’t touch her.”
I shook my head and pushed away from him. “Fuck off. Even if I did, it would be none of your business. But for the record, no, I didn’t. I guess I drove drunk to the diner, and she brought me home.”
The Prospect, Beckett, popped out from behind the bar. “I can attest to that. He was a fucking wreck. Walked all the way here.”
Moose growled. “You made her fucking walk at night with your drunkass?”
I slowly moved away from him. Striker came walking down the stairs and got right between us.
“Take her home, Moose. I got this.”
He turned and stalked out of the door. Striker glared at me and motioned up toward his office.
I followed behind him and plopped down in the chair across from his desk. Striker on the other side and glared at me.
“I can’t stop Moose if you hurt Savannah.”
I shook my head. “I’m not trying to hurt her, Pres. I swear to fucking god we didn’t do anything last night.”
“I believe you. But it sounds like you hurt her somehow. Tell me how you really feel about her. No fucking holds.”
“I have fucking feelings for a woman for the first time in my life, okay?”
Striker nodded. “And this woman has ties to the club. So fucking up would have repercussions with your brothers. And not just oh a hangaround. Moose thinks of her as his fucking kid, and we both know if Moose protects someone it’s to the goddamn death.”
“Yup. I fucking know. And she doesn’t even realize how much she means to him or even fucking me.”
“So then, don’t hurt her. Do it the right way. Stop fucking around and tell her your feelings. Man the fuck up and make your move.”
I sighed. “They all have told me to be friends first.”
“Who? Who the fuck told you that? Fuck that shit. Go slow, but let your intentions be heard loud and clear. Stake your claim and don’t give up.”
“The ladies... Thor. Moose said stay the fuck away, period. But, Pres. This woman has me all fucking tangled up in feelings. Sav means more to me than just a good time in bed.”
Striker tapped the desk and I looked up to see him smiling.
“If you wanna win her over, you better start trying. I know a good florist…”
I laughed as he wrote a number down on paper. “Flowers would be a good start, huh?”
“Always good. And throw in some chocolate too. Women love that shit.”
I grabbed the paper as he handed it to me and grinned. “Thanks, Pres. I really appreciate it.”
“But remember, you hurt her and Moose is coming after you and I’m not gonna fucking stop him.”
I nodded and got up from the chair. I had some making up to do and wanted to do it right.
Istoodatthedoor of Hope Hearted with a bouquet and a bag of chocolate bars. I couldn’t decide which one to get, so I just got them all.
