I hung up and turned back to Savannah, who was moaning as she rolled her head to the side. She looked up at me and then closed her eyes.
“Shhh. I got you, baby girl. I got you.”
Sav quietly whispered. “Don’t leave me, please.”
I held her to me as Rooster came running into the room.
“Alright, bud. Let’s get her to the van. You can lay her in the back and follow us to Hope Hearted.”
I nodded and carefully picked Savannah up. Carrying her out, Rooster opened the van door, and I laid her out on the backseat.
Beckett was sitting up front and climbed back, so I sat on the floor next to Savannah. I glared at him as he got closer to Sav.
“Don’t fucking touch her, Prospect.”
He nodded and inched away from her. I looked back at Rooster, our newest patched member, and glared at him next.
“Drive fucking safe.”
“Always.”
I walked back to my bike and hopped on, following Rooster as he took off down the gravel driveway.
A few minutes later, we arrived at Hope Hearted. This was Bambi’s baby; a safe home for women who were escaping domestic violence.
Bambi rushed out with Lilah by her side as I carried Savannah out of the van.
“I’ve got a room all set up for her. How is she doing?”
“Out. But alive.”
Lilah stayed next to me as we rushed her upstairs and into a freshly made bed. I carefully laid Savannah down and pulled a chair up next to the bed.
As Lilah checked her out, I clasped her hand.
“She got knocked out, but will be okay. It’s not the first time…”
I growled and squeezed Savannah’s hand.
“I’m going to fucking kill him, Lilah.”
Bambi snorted behind me. “Get in line, pretty boy. Cause as soon as I pop these babies out I’m going in for fucking blood.”
I nodded and turned back to Savannah. Her perfect face was already bruising, and it crushed my heart.
Lilah tapped my shoulder, and I looked up at her. “I’ll stay the night with her. I’m sure Lloyd will look for her when he gets home.”
“Alright. I’ll let the hospital know to keep an eye out. Call Striker.”
As Lilah left the room, I took my phone out and dialed our President.
“Yo, man.”
I could hear the kids in the background as Striker moved to another room.
“What’s up?”
I sighed and looked over at Savannah. “At Hope Hearted. He really did a number on Sav this time.”
