I walked over and hugged him. “Thank you. I trust her, so you should, too. Maybe she just has some things to keep to herself. Oh, where are the kids anyway?”
“At the clubhouse. My lease is up, and the landlord isn’t resigning with me. So now on top of dealing with my cunt of an ex, I have to find a place to live.”
“Well, let me help with that. I’m not working right now so it’s the least I can do.”
Moose pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head.
“Thanks, baby girl. I gotta get back to the kids. Catch you guys later.”
Moose high fived Hawk before walking out the door. Hawk walked over to me and pulled me into his arms.
“Let’s get back to bed, pretty girl.”
I smiled as he led me back into our bedroom after setting the alarm system. We both crawled into bed, and Hawk turned on one of my cooking shows. I cuddled up to him and happily sighed. Things were finally getting better and I couldn’t be happier.
Chapter Thirty
Hawk
SavandIwerehaving breakfast about a week after her last court date. We were sitting at the kitchen table when there was a knock on the door.
I looked down at my phone to see the security camera zoom in on Lily’s face. Getting up, I walked over and opened the door for her.
“Good morning, Lily.”
“Yeah, yeah. Move out of the way. I’m here to see my girl.”
I laughed as Lily made her way into our kitchen. She sat right down at the table and placed a folder in front of Sav.
“Open it. It’s good news.”
Sav slowly opened the folder and read the paper. She looked back up at Lily with a shocked look on her face.
“What... what is this?”
“It’s damages for what Lloyd and Eckhart did to you. I got it! This will pay for all your medical bills and more!”
I walked over and looked at the paper, then whistled.
“Damn, baby. That’s a lot of money.”
Sav just nodded as she stared at the sheet of paper.
“You’ll see the money in about a week. Eckhart had plenty in the bank and the court wasn't holding back. They settled, and the court said you don’t have to show up for the final hearing. It’s all over, girl.”
I rubbed Sav’s back. “You can open your very own restaurant with that amount!”
“Yeah. Uhm, I’ll think about it. Hey, Lily. Have you talked to Moose at all?”
Lily nodded. “Yeah. His ex can’t take the kids because he has full custody. She would be charged with kidnapping, but she can make a case to have split custody or try to get full custody. But I won't let that happen, even though I’m not the biggest fan of Moose. I do like the kids.”
Sav and I laughed as Lily made herself a coffee.
“Just fight for those kids, despite your hatred for Moose. He would be lost without his kids.”
Lily nodded. “I will. And for the record, I don’t hate Moose. We just don’t... mix well.”
I laughed as I sat down next to my woman. “Maybe if you two just fuck and get it over with we would all be happier, you two included.”
