Moose nodded his head toward the door. “Here. I already had them moved here before we got your call.”

Lily cocked her head toward Moose. “You have kids?”

“Yup. Let's go.”

“Well, I didn’t expect that from you.”

Moose’s eyes turned dark. “Those kids are my life. I don’t shout it at the universe because I’m protecting them. I don’t know you, so there would be no reason to tell you.”

Lily glared back and crossed her arms. “Well, I’m going to be around for a long time, so you better get used to it. You may need me one day to save your ass.”

Moose just grumbled. “We’ll see. Let’s just get you back to the hotel.” He turned to me and smiled. “I’ll be back later. Call me or just poke your head out if you need anything. This is your home for the next few days, so get comfy.”

I nodded as they both walked out the door. Sitting back down on the bed, I looked around the room and sadly smiled.

Every little thing reminded me of Hawk. I saw one of his t-shirts laying on the floor and grabbed it. Taking my clothes off, I slipped the shirt on and threw on a pair of his boxers as well.

I pulled the blankets back and climbed into bed. A gold picture frame on the nightstand caught my attention.

Picking it up, I saw it was a picture of Hawk and me at the club party. He had his arm around me and I was gazing up at him as he looked down at me. My hand was on his chest and we both looked so happy.

How I could have ever doubted that man made my heart ache. I laid the picture down next to me and closed my eyes.

Afewhourslater,a knock on the door woke me up. I grabbed one of Hawk’s sweatshirts and walked toward the door. Moose was standing on the other side.

“Everything okay?”

He smiled and pulled me in for a hug.

“Yeah. Just dropped that pain in the ass off. Wanted to check on you before I went to bed. You doing okay?”

I nodded. “As good as I’m gonna be right now. I just still can’t believe everything that’s happened. Hawk took the fall for me even though I told him it was over…”

“He loves you, Sav. I had my doubts at first, but I can see it all now. Hawk finally found the one.”

“And that makes me so sad because now he’s going to end up in prison if we can’t prove he didn’t kill Lloyd.”

Moose shook his head. “But we are going to prove it wasn’t him. Trust me on this one, Sav. And Lily will make sure you don’t do any jail or prison time. It was self-defense.”

I started to cry again when Moose picked me and carried me to Hawk’s bed. He carefully laid me down and smiled when he saw the picture.

“Fucking Willow. That’s who took this and probably framed it, too. Do you see how happy you two are in this?”

I nodded and wiped away the tears. “I want that back. God, I want that back so bad.”

“And you’re gonna have that back. I promise. But as soon as Lily gets him out, you both need to apologize and work on this relationship if you’re serious about it. You love him right?”

“Yes.”

Moose stood up and smiled. “Then work your ass for him. Prove to him you love him and will accept him and all his demons. He’s still fucked up from his past. Get him to talk about it. Open him up and show him he’s a good man.”

“I will. I can do that, Moose.”

“Good. Now get some rest. We have some big things to handle and I’m gonna need your help. Goodnight, Sav.”

I smiled and pulled the blankets over me as Moose walked out. “Goodnight, Moose.”

I had to believe everything he was saying or I would make myself go crazy. I needed to be strong for Hawk and do whatever I needed to do to save the man I loved.
