She sighs and sits back in her seat. Bambi stares out the window before she speaks in a sad voice.

“You. You break my heart every day, Goose. Over and over, yet I still always run to you. Last year... last year when I should have been able to turn to my best friend, you were too preoccupied to even see what was going on.”

I turn my head to glance at Bambi.

“What are you talking about?”

She huffs and more tears run down her face.

“You were more concerned about getting in Ellie Jo’s pants that you couldn’t even see your best friend was hurting. Last year I had a miscarriage, Goose. It was right after all that shit that happened to Willow”

I grip the steering wheel as we pull up to the Medical Center.How could I have missed that?

“Nobody except Joker knew because he was the one who found me lying on the bathroom floor while we were painting Willow’s studio.”

“Fuck, Bambi. I’m so-”

She holds her hand up, cutting me off.

“And you know who’s baby it was?”

I turn away from her, not ready to hear about another brother knocking her up.

“It was your fucking baby, Sawyer.”

I whip around to look at Bambi.

“You should have fucking told me!”

She laughs maniacally. “Why? So you could pay for an abortion? You’ve told me before that you don’t want my babies or me. Why would I have told you?”

I punch the steering wheel and glare at Bambi.

“That was my fucking child too, Bambi. I had every right to know.”

She just shakes her head as more tears come.

“This is why I didn’t tell you. You fly off the handle whenever something doesn’t go your way. And what would you have done? How could we possibly co-parent when you won’t even talk to me about our past?”

“Because it was my fucking kid, Bambi!”

I can see Mad Dog and Thor glaring at me through the window. They know something is up, but I’m not ready to share this with anybody.

“How was I supposed to tell you after everything you’ve said to me? The way you’ve treated me the past few years? Riddle me that, Sawyer.”

“I don’t know... but I still should have been the first person to know you were fucking pregnant. And I should have been the first person to know you miscarried. Who else fucking knows?”

She looks up at me finally and shakes her head.

“Just Joker. I kept it a secret from everybody. The only reason he knows is because he came to check on me while you were busy flirting with that tourist.”

“You should have come to me...”

Bambi rips open the car door and gets out. She turns to me and glares.

“And you should have never made me fall in love with you, Sawyer.”

Bambi storms off into the Medical Center and Mad Dog comes over to the car. Thor is already leaning on the driver's side.
