I sigh and look up at the screen as the doctor moves the wand around. Ever since we found out Bambi was pregnant, I’ve become even more protective over her. She always has a tail, and I make sure she never lifts a finger.

The doctor moves the wand and points to the screen. “There’s your baby! Everything looks healthy.”

She moves the wand again and frowns. Bambi doesn’t see, but I do.

“What’s wrong?”

The doctor moves the wand again and Bambi squeezes my hand a little tighter. Finally, the doctor looks up at us with a grin.

“You see that spot on the screen?” We both nod. “That’s baby number two.”

Bambi gasps and I just stare in disbelief.

“Two...?” Her voice is shaky as she gazes at the screen.

The doctor laughs. “Two little bundles of joy. Both healthy babies. We’ll want to check on them more often because of your past, but they look good to me, mama and daddy.”

She stands and shakes my hand and then helps clean Bambi up from the goop.

“Do twins run the family?”

I laughed. “I’m a twin. My baby sister had twins on the first try, and so did my brother. It’s the Crawford gene.”

“Perfect. I’ll let you two have the room. Just check out at the desk and I’ll see you in a month.”

I help Bambi off the table, and we make our next appointment before heading out. As we make our way home, I call Lilah.

“Hey, baby sis. Wanna get everybody over at your house? Bambi and I are on our way.”

“Of course! See you soon!”

We pull up to Lilah and Striker’s place just a few minutes later. I can see everybody standing outside as the kids run around playing.

I get out first and then help Bambi out of the truck. Now that I know there are two precious little things growing inside my woman, I’m gonna to be extra careful.

As we walk over, Mama comes over and rubs Bambi’s little belly.

“How’s my grandbaby doing in there?”

Bambi smiles up at me, and I throw my arm around her shoulder.

“Well, we got some good news.” Taking the ultrasounds out of my back pocket, I hold them up for everybody to see. “Looks like the Crawford gene struck again! We’re having two babies!”

Mama cries and jumps into my arms. Lilah and Willow wrap Bambi into a hug as my brothers pat me on the back.

Striker shakes his head as he pulls me into a hug.

“Congrats, Goose. Welcome to hell!”

I laugh as Mav pushes him aside to hug me. “Fucking look at you, shooting champs.”

Mama slaps his arm and glares up at him. “Language, Silas. Just a congratulations would have been fine.”

“Sorry, mama.”

We all laugh as we head inside. Lilah has already started cooking family dinner. The women go into the kitchen as Striker, Mav, and I head into the playroom with the kids.

I lean back on the couch as my little princess, Scarlett, climbs onto my lap.
