Chapter Seventeen
Goose
––––––––
WE ARE ALL SITTINGat the bar when all the Old Ladies come out of the kitchen. But this time they have an unfamiliar woman with them.
Thor smiles and walks over to her, and that’s when I realize it’s his sister. I can see the resemblance between the two.
The women walk over to the bar and all the single brother’s turn to watch Thor’s sister. A few of them walk over and I can see Thor getting upset.
I can’t blame the kid. I don’t want to see guys eyeing my baby sister. Thankfully, she’s Striker’s Old Lady now and everybody keeps their eyes to themselves. Except Striker, who thinks it’s funny to push my buttons by sucking face with my baby sister in front of me...
I grumble and turn to watch as Bambi guides the women over to the bar. Hawk and I are sitting toward the end, and as soon as he sees them coming, he stands with a shit-eating grin on his face.
“Hey there. I’m Hawk.”
Thor’s sister smiled at him. “I’m Astrid. Nice to meet you.”
Bambi stands in front of Hawk and puts her hands on her hips. “Astrid is my new bartender and Thor’s baby sister. Hands off policy. Bye.”
I laugh and pull her into me to kiss. She tastes perfectly sweet as I push my tongue inside her mouth. Her honey lips pull me in and I run my fingers from the base of her neck up to her scalp.
Her soft hair tangles in my fingers and I pull her in closer to me when someone clears their throat behind us.
Striker is standing with his arms crossed right behind us.
“Sup, brother?”
“Wanna stop going at your Old Lady for a minute?”
I shrug, “Now you know how I feel when you got your hands all over my precious baby sister.”
Striker just laughs as he pulls us both into a hug. “Yeah, yeah. Just glad to have you two back to your normal selves. Now, stop sucking face and go get some dinner.”
Bambi and I laugh as we walk over with him to grab a plate. The women did great cooking up chicken with all the sides to go with it.
We walk over and sit down next to Lilah and Striker while their kids run wild. Mama is watching them and trying to get them to eat.
“Yo man, get your kids before they give mama a heart attack.”
Striker laughs and shakes his head. “Nope. She said to sit and eat and I don’t say no to her. Plus, we need a break from those hellions.”
“They’re your spitting fucking image, Striker. Attitude and all.” I take a bite of food, then look up at Striker. “You heard anything on Zane?”
Striker sits his fork down and sighs. “I dunno, man. Doc says it’s not looking too good. A lot of internal damage and possibly brain damage. We’re trying to stay positive but...”
Bambi sniffles beside me, and I pull her into me. “It’s gonna be okay. He’s a fighter. If, or should I say when, that kid pulls out, he deserves to be patched in. He works damn hard and helps everybody out, brother’s and Old Ladies.
Striker nods as he takes a sip of his beer. “We’ll talk about it at Church. I’m sure the other brothers will be on board too.”
I pull Bambi into me as we finish dinner. Things are calm now, but I know a storm is brewing.
We are just finishing eating when I notice Bambi is getting quieter. She isn’t her normal rowdy self.
“You okay, angel?”
