IHAD FINALLY ESCAPEDfrom the Shadow Raiders two months after being locked-up in their clubhouse. My father had sold me to them to pay off his gambling debts.
I snuck out while they were out on a run. They thought I was too weak and had finally given up. Little did they know, I was just waiting for the perfect timing to run.
I wasn’t going to spend the rest of my life there. I would be stronger than my mother.
I was battered and bruised, filthy and used. No matter what I did, I couldn’t stop crying. Some of the men had complained about it, but others got off on it.
Snake had finally gotten bored with me and moved onto a new victim, leaving me to plan my escape.
Walking up to my trailer, I could see my father drinking a beer in a lawn chair out front.
“What the fuck are you doing here, you whore?”
“I’m done.”
My father stood up and swayed toward me. “They were supposed to fucking keep you. I’ll sell your goddamn ass to another club to make some more cash. Let’s go.”
I pulled my arm away from him and stepped back. “No. You can’t do this to me. I’m done. You got plenty of money out of me now let me leave this town.”
He launched forward and grabbed me by my hair. Dragging me back to the trailer, he ripped open the door and pulled me up the stairs.
“You fucking do as I say, bitch. I’ll fucking teach you to talk back.”
He slammed my head into the floor as his fists rained down on my face. My father kicked me in the stomach as he ripped my hair back.
I could hear the door fly open and then suddenly my father was lifted off of me. Looking up, I saw Sawyer standing over him.
He was wearing a black leather cut with the patch of The Devil’s Highwaymen on it. He had grown up while I was gone a mere two months, but the biggest change was the darkness behind those green eyes.
“You’re a fucking dead man, Earl.” Sawyer threw him to the floor and turned to me, “Turn away, Bambi.”
I rolled and covered my face as Sawyer stomped on my father's head with his black motorcycle boots. He pulled out a gun and put it right to my father’s temple.
“You’ve fucking had this coming a long time. I wanted to kill you the first time I ever saw you put your hands on Bambi when we were just kids. Now I’ve got the Devil’s Highwaymen on my side.”
He pulled the trigger, and I watched as the blood splattered all over the carpet and walls. Sawyer walked over and helped me up.
“You’re safe now, Bambi. He can never hurt you again.”
I collapsed into his arms as the tears ran down my face. Sawyer held me and then helped me walk out of the trailer.
“Stay right here. I’ll take care of his body and then help you clean.”
I shook my head. “I don’t want to live here. Burn it to the fucking ground.”
He nodded and took his phone out to make a call. Turning back to me, he stood with his hands in his pockets.
“I’ll always keep you safe, Bambi. But what we had before is gone. I can’t love you. You fucking broke my heart. What you did at that clubhouse... fucking disgusting. I didn’t think you were that type of girl, but I was wrong. I can’t be with somebody like that.”
I could feel the tears falling. “Sawyer... please. It’s not like that!”
The roar of motorcycle engines were coming closer and Sawyer just stood there. “You made the choice when you didn’t leave with me that night. It’s done, Bambi. I’m sorry.”
I cried and collapsed to my knees as Silas and Levi came driving up to my trailer. Sawyer put his hand up to stop them as they came closer to me.
“She made her bed. Trailer needs to go and so does the body.”
They both nodded and got to work. Sawyer threw me the keys to the truck and shook his head.
