“Call me if anything changes. Check up on Striker and make sure he eats. If he doesn’t let me know and I’ll send Mama down.”

The head nurse, Amanda, nods. “We’ll take good care of both of them, Goose.”

Bambi and I walk out of the center. Making our way to the parking lot, I look around to make sure the coast is clear.

Despite the emergency with my sister, Bambi still needs to be taken care of and protected until we eliminate the threat.

I gently help Bambi onto my motorcycle and place my helmet on her head. Turning around, I climb on in front of her.

I start the bike and slowly roll out of the parking lot. The sun is just starting to set, painting the sky with beautiful colors.

Driving a little slower, I pass the lake and let Bambi enjoy the sky before we’re thrust into chaos.

As the sky gets darker, I drive a little faster toward our family road. We make our way up to my old house, Striker and Lila’s house now.

I can see Mama outside with the kids and smile. We always have each other’s backs. I park the bike and all the little ones come running over.

“Uncle Goose!”

The twins, Colton and Knox, run right into me, toppling me over. Scarlett slowly walks over and puts her hands up for Bambi to lift her. Bambi pulls her into her arms, spinning the princess in a circle.

A grin spreads across my face at the sight of Bambi and Scarlett. She’s a natural with kids, and I love to see that beautiful smile on my woman.

Mama comes over and smiles as she walks us inside. I hold her hand as we head up the stairs and into the living room.

“Alright, babies. Grandma has to go home, but I’ll come by tomorrow to check on you.”

They all rush to kiss and hug her goodbye. I can see Bear, Striker’s pop, outside in his truck. Striker had already told him what was going on, so he was going to keep an eye on Mama.

She comes over and hugs Bambi and I tight. “Thank you two so much. Let me know if you need anything.”

I kiss her on the top of the head before she turns back to the kids. “Love you all so much.”

Once she walks out the door, Bambi turns and goes into the kitchen, Scarlett right by her side.

“Let’s go help the ladies out in the kitchen, boys.”

They smile and run ahead of me. Tonight will be interesting, but I just hope Lilah will be okay. I can't lose my baby sister.
