I’m so lucky to have such an amazing mother-in-law like her. We spend a lot of time together and she teaches me all her baking secrets. She took me in just like I was one of her own. That woman has the biggest heart and is such a blessing in everybody’s life.
Lilah is curling my hair as Luna sits in front of me doing my make-up. Luna and I have gotten very close the past year as she took over the club. Olivia is here and one of my bridesmaids.
Willow brings my dress over as the girls finish getting me ready. It’s a gorgeous A-line dress with an open back. The back has four small gold buttons that go down to the waistline.
The top of the dress has long sleeves and is made of lace, while the bottom half is made of tulle. The front dips down to just above my belly button. I’m in love with this dress as I slip into it.
All the girls wear long-sleeved gold glitter dresses while my flower girl, Scarlett, wears a little dress that has gold glitter on top, a black satin bow in the middle and white tulle on the bottom.
She runs around twirling around like a little princess. I can’t wait to have our own kids one day.
As I turn to look in the mirror, Mama Crawford starts to cry. “Oh, lordy. You just look so beautiful, dear. I’m just so happy today! All my babies are married!”
I turn and take her into my arms and hug her tight. She sniffs and pulls back.
“Okay! No more crying. Let’s get this show on the road, ladies!”
We all laugh as we make our way down the stairs and outside. Everybody is already in the field waiting for the ceremony to start.
Goose and I have gone with a black and gold wedding with hints of skulls, Goose’s request. Pumpkins are painted black and gold, some with gold accents on them. Black chairs sit on both sides of the aisle with pumpkins, tall candles, and white flowers at each new row.
A large arch with black tulle drapes on the left and right side stood at the end with Edison lights hanging from the top.
Mama Crawford hugs me one last time before starting the wedding. Striker, Mad Dog, and Zane all stand at the front while Maverick stands next to Goose as his best man.
Andrea Bocelli’s voice comes over the speakers as he sings a cover ofCan’t Help Falling in Love.
Olivia, Luna, and Willow walk down the aisle, and Lilah follows behind them. Mav and Willow’s little one, Bodhi, goes next as our ring bearer. Scarlett’s turn is up as she sprinkles black and gold rose petals down the aisle. She skips and smiles, making everybody laugh.
The song comes to an end and everybody stands as a piano plays the first notes ofPachelbel Canon in D.
I take a deep breath and wait until I hear the cello come in. Before I can step out, Joker comes to my side and puts his arm out.
“Ready to get married, mi princesa?”
Tears form in my eyes as I hug him tight. “This... this is...”
“A surprise? Just wanted to do something special for you on your big day. Zane and I fought about who was going to walk you down the aisle. Safe to say, I won.”
I kiss him on the cheek as we turn to get ready to walk. I slowly step forward and everybody gasps. Goose gazes at me and wipes a tear from his eye as he stands up front.
He wears black pants, a black dress shirt with a gold tie, and his cut over everything. I take small and slow steps, never taking my eyes off Goose.
As the cello’s notes get faster, I come to the end of the aisle. Joker and I stop and he turns to me, lifting my sheer veil.
“Knock him dead, babe.”
He kisses me on the cheek and hands me off to Goose. Joker sits in the front row and smiles up at me as I walk up to the arch where Doctor Tickner is waiting for us.
The song ends and Doctor Tickner clasps his hands together. Everybody sits as he starts his speech.
“We are gathered here today, surrounded by the beautiful sights and sounds of nature to celebrate the wedding of Bambi and Goose. Marriage is the promise between two people who love each other, who trust that love, and who wish to spend the rest of their lives together. It empowers the two separate souls to share their desires, longings, dreams, and memories, their joys and sorrows, and to help each other through all uncertainties of life.”
He looks at us and smiles. “To celebrate today, they have written their own vows to share their love for each other. Bambi, you may start.”
I take a folded piece of paper out of my dress and gaze up at Goose’s deep green eyes.
“Goose, you have always been a solid presence in my life, even when I didn’t think I needed you. You have saved me time and time again, not only from danger, but from myself. You have been my soulmate since the beginning. There was never anybody else for me. So today, I give myself to you. I give you my heart, I give you my promise to stand by your side always. I give you all my love until the day I die, I give you my fullest devotion. Today, I vow myself to you as your wife until the end of time.”
