I sit back and think. “Well, I would love to run that non-profit I was telling you about. I think girls and women around here really need a safe place.”
“Well, let’s make plans for it, babe. I know you don’t want to work at Studio Forty-Eight forever. Maybe still have a hand in it, but not be there late every night.”
I sit up and smile at him. “That would be great. I love those girls and don’t want to give them up. But you’re right, those late nights are getting harder and harder.”
“Then it’s settled. Let’s go upstairs and get some rest. Tomorrow we’ll start planning, babe. Big things are coming your way and I can’t wait to see what you can accomplish.”
We turn the tv off and walk up the stairs to our bedroom. Goose sweetly helps me get ready for bed and cuddles close to me as we lay down.
My eyelids close and for the first time in a long time, I go to sleep with no nightmares and a newfound warmth in my heart.
Chapter Twenty-Nine

AFEW MONTHS GO BYand Bambi is back at work. She’s only going during the day and letting Luna handle the rest. I know she wants to work later but just can’t bring herself to being outside at night.
I always make sure we’re home by nightfall so she doesn’t have to worry. Bambi still has a hard time with the dark and is only having a few anxiety attacks here and there.
Astrid has taken up Knuckles offer and moved to the bar, leaving more spots at the club bar. Bambi hired two female bartenders and two male bartenders. She even hired more security like Luna asked.
Astrid seems much happier at the new MC bar and is even looking at buying a piece of Crawford land to build a house on. She moved her horse to the barn at Lilah and Strikers and is fitting in perfectly.
Luna moved into Bambi’s old apartment and is spending a lot of time with Bambi outside of work. She’s fitting right in with the trio; Lilah, Bambi, Willow, and now Luna. She and Astrid seemed to be close too.
Things are going perfectly and I couldn’t be happier. The club is doing great and expanding even more. Joker is gone and is setting up his new club in the next town over.
Some of our Nomads are there helping until he gets his club up and running. They are building a brand new clubhouse and setting up some legitimate channels to get money through.
Blade has finally opened his tattoo shop and is booked out a year so far. Astrid is still trying to get him to hire her tattoo artist friend, but he’s having no part of it. He tells her he’s fine on his own. I know he’ll eventually change his mind.
I’m so fucking proud of all my brothers. Lilah is back to herself and working, and Willow’s art studio is bringing in people from all over.
Today, I called Lilah, Willow, and Zane over while Bambi was out at lunch. I have a special surprise up my sleeve and need their help.
