Goose laughs from behind the trio. “We’ll talk about that in Church, brother.”

I turn to Astrid, “Whatever you want to do is fine. Don’t let these men bully you around. They’re all teddy bears inside.”

We laugh as the men scowl. Luna sits down in the chair on the other side of my desk and leans forward.

“I have some concerns I would like to bring up. We have plenty of security for the girls, but poor Astrid deals with a lot at the bar. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a tough fucking broad, but she could use some backup. Maybe guys that don’t look like these ones.”

She points to Mad Dog and Goose.

“Like unsuspecting bodyguards?”

Luna nods.

“We can do that. With the amount of money that’s being brought into it, we can hire some undercover security. I’ll be back to work soon, I promise.”

Mad Dog steps around the desk and puts his hand on my shoulder. “Seriously. There is no rush. And whatever you need from us, just let us know. I don’t want you rushing back. You are more important than this club, Bambi.”

I stand up and hug all three before moving back near Goose. He wraps me in his arms and kisses the top of my head.

“Enough business talk. I’m bringing my woman back home to spoil her.”

The trio laughs as we walk back out. I grab Goose’s hand and bring him around back.

“I want to go through some stuff in my apartment. Only a few things I want to bring back to your house.”

“Ourhouse, baby. You live there and it’s your home too. Do whatever you want to it. I just want to make you happy.”

I kiss him before walking up the stairs. Goose runs up behind me and scoops me into his arms.

We laugh as he carries me into my apartment and sits me down on the couch.

“Alright, angel. How do you wanna do this?”

I look around and walk into the kitchen to find my pad of sticky notes.

“Whatever is being moved, we’ll put a little sticky note on. Everything without one can stay. Oh, we also need to talk to Luna before we leave. I want to offer the apartment to her.”

Goose smiles and grabs the pad from my hand.

“Tell me what you want to move, woman. You sit on the couch and I’ll do the work.”

I just laugh as we walk around the apartment picking out what I want to keep and move toourhome.

It still feels so weird saying that, but I can’t be happier. I don’t want to bring much because I love Goose’s home just the way it is.

Once we’re finished, we lock up and head out to the truck. Goose drives past town to a little taco truck on the side on the road.

We sit and eat in the bed of the truck as the sun goes down and the stars come up. Once we’re done, we drive back home.

Goose makes us popcorn, and we relax on the couch to watch a movie. Half way through the movie, Goose turns to me.

“It was really good to see you back at work today, babe.”

I smile at him and stretch my legs out on top of his.

“Yeah, it felt great. I can’t wait to get back and put some work in. I’m thinking of just going during the day at first, then working my way up to regular shifts at night.”

Goose nods his head in agreement. “Good plan, love. What about in the future? What do you wanna do?”
