“It feels nice to actually get dressed. Not just wear yoga pants and maxi dresses.”
We laugh, and he slowly kisses me. Pulling back, he smiles at me with those gorgeous green eyes.
“You always look beautiful, angel. Now, let’s go see your girls. I think Mad Dog is the one that misses you the most.”
Laughing, we make our way to the truck and head into town. I start to get nervous, but Goose holds my hand and calms me down.
I know I’m safe with him and he will keep me away from the last few triggers I have. Goose parks right up front and helps me out of the truck.
I hold on tight to his hand as he leads me to the front door.
“If you don’t want to do this, just let me know. We can always go back home.”
I straighten my back and push my shoulders back. “No. I need to do this.”
Goose nods and slowly opens the door. It’s silent inside as we make our way toward the stage.
All the girls are standing there with Mad Dog up front. They shut all the music off and turned on all the lights so there isn’t a dark spot around.
I turn to Goose and he just smiles. “Welcome back, angel.”
I jump into his arms and start to cry. “This is all so amazing!”
Turning to the girls, I can see they all have tears in their eyes. Mad Dog comes off the stage and pulls me into a big hug.
“I missed you, woman! This place hasn’t been the same without you.”
I kiss his cheek and hug him tightly. “I’ve missed you! I want to come back soon, okay?”
“No rush. Luna here has been great. Astrid has trained a bunch of the girls on the bar and as waitresses. We’ve been running a smooth ship. It was rough at first, but we finally got the hang of things.”
I turn to the two women who have stepped up in my absence. “Thank you both so much for all of this. I’m so happy!”
Astrid smiles and elbows Luna. “This girl has been killing it downstairs! We’re a good team.”
I hug them both and turn to the rest of the girls.
“I’ll be back soon, but for now just keep doing the awesome job you’re doing. Luna, Astrid, Mad Dog. Can you guys come with me to my office?”
The rest of the girls go back to the dressing room to get ready for tonight. The rest of us walk back to my office.
I sit behind my desk and run my hands over it. It feels so good to be back at the club. I look up at my friends standing in front of me.
Goose is leaning on the door frame and winks at me. He’s here to support me, and I’m so lucky to have him.
Clearing my throat, I smile. “Tell me what’s been going on. How are the finances? Girls behaving? Customer numbers?”
Luna takes out a notebook and steps forward. “Not to toot my own horn but, toot toot bitch. I’ve been bringing in around twenty thousand a night just downstairs.”
“Holy shit! That’s amazing, girl! How’s upstairs?”
“Around the same, give or take.”
I sit back in my chair and whistle.
Astrid smiles and shakes her head. “Bar is bringing in a good amount too. Knuckles wants me to come and work at his bar next.”
Mad Dog growls. “He’s not taking her. I’ll fight him over this woman.”
