Chapter Twenty-Eight
Bambi
––––––––
AMONTH HAS GONE BYsince they released me from the hospital. Things are slowly falling back into place. I’m still staying at Goose’s house and afraid to admit I don’t want to leave.
I don’t want him to think I’m mooching off of him. I still haven't gone back to work or done any online school. It’s just too tough with my occasional panic attacks.
Goose has been great about everything and makes sure I have somebody with me at all times. I’m truly so lucky to have him.
I’m laying on the bed reading a book when Goose comes in. He sits down next to me and wraps his arms around my stomach, laying his head on my lap.
“You gonna tell me what’s been bothering you, woman?”
I mark my page and put the book down next to me. Turning back, I look down at Goose.
“I... well, I just feel like I’m mooching off of you. I want to go back to work but... but I’m scared to go back to living in my apartment.”
Goose sits up and softly kisses me. “First of all, you aren’t mooching off of me. You would do the same if I couldn’t work. Second of all, you don’t have to go home.”
“What?”
He laughs and kisses me again. “I’m serious, babe. You never have to leave. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, angel. I’ll call the guys to pack the rest of your things and bring them over.”
I smile and lean up to kiss him. “Thank you. For all of this, babe. Maybe we can go over there and I can help pack? Most of my furniture can stay. Maybe the club can rent it out to one of the girls.”
“Great idea. I know that one woman, Luna, was looking for a new place to stay.”
“Perfect. Do you think... maybe we can go see them? I really miss all my girls.”
Goose hops off the bed and goes to the closet. “Of course, babe. Let me get dressed and we can go.”
I smile and slowly get out of bed and get ready. I’m still not ready to wear heels or dress up. When I have my breakdowns, it’s easier to be in comfy clothes.
I pick out a cute pair of burnt orange flare bell bottom velour pants and pair them with a white fringe sweater that hangs off one shoulder.
Grabbing my white pointed toe flats, I add some small pieces of gold jewelry along with the outfit.
Goose is waiting on the bed for me as I come out of the closet.
“Oooh, baby. Damn you look good, woman.”
I blush and walk over to him, standing between his legs.
