Dropping everything, I take my gun out and run down to her bedroom. I whip open the door to see Bambi curled up on the floor, rocking back and forth.

I run over and drop to my knees next to her.

“Bambi. Hey, baby. It’s just me, Sawyer. You’re home and safe.”

She turns to look at me, and her face is full of fear. Mascara runs down her face, mixed with her tears.

I quickly wipe them away and pull her into me. We stay together on the floor for an hour before she’s finally able to speak.

“I’m so sorry, Goose... I just... there was a shadow and then I heard the music downstairs... It’s all just too loud.”

“Shh, baby. It’s okay. Let’s pack a bag and go to my house. Most of your stuff is there and I made some adjustments to help you. We can do the same here too.”

I gently pick her up and sit her on her bed. Grabbing one of her duffle bags, I open the closet door and throw more clothes and shoes in it.

“Anything specific you want?”

I look out to see her packing some of her make-up. “Uh, no. Just whatever. Looks like the guys brought a lot of my favorites to your house already.”

We finish packing and throw everything in the bed of my truck. After locking up her apartment, we climb back into my truck and make our way to my house.

Bambi is quiet until we pull up to my front door. Suddenly she starts to cry. I hop out and run to her side, pulling her into my arms.

“Bambi, what’s wrong? Did I do something?”

She shakes her head and sniffs back some tears. “No. You’ve done everything perfect. I’m just one big fucking mess.”

I chuckle and kiss the top of her head. “Listen to me. You are not a mess. Did anybody say that to Willow after what she went through?”

“No.”

“Exactly. You have gone through something extremely traumatic. You are allowed to grieve and cry and break down. That’s normal. But for now, let me bring you inside and show you everything.”

I take her hand in mine and bring her through the house. I point out all the lights and the new security system. I show Bambi the updated walk-in closet with sound proof walls so she can have a safe place.

“Let’s get you a nice bubble bath and then we can cook dinner. I’ll stay with you the whole time, okay?”

“You did all of this for me?”

I nod as I pull her into the bathroom. “I would do anything for you, Angel. You deserve to have everything nice in this world.”

She smiles as she slowly slips out of clothes and into the warm tub. Bubbles tickle her face and she laughs.

“God, you are so perfect, Goose.”

I shake my head. “No. Just trying my best to show you how amazing you truly are.”

We talk and laugh, then make a delicious dinner together. I make sure Bambi takes her meds before bed and then we cuddle and watch a movie.

I’m so happy to have my woman back home and in my bed, where I plan to keep her forever.
