We walked for a few minutes before we came upon Lilah and Striker’s barn. I placed my hand on the small of Willow’s back and guided her in.

Waiting inside was the entire club and my whole family. Joker and Wrench were front and center waiting for us to come in.

Willow turned to me, “This is for us? They all knew?”

I nodded and guided her toward Wrench and Joker. “These two were the first to know. I asked them for your hand in marriage. I wish I could have asked your Grandfather , but Joker here assured me he would absolutely approve.”

She threw herself into Joker’s arms with tears down her face. He sweetly kissed the top of her head, “I’m so happy for you, Willow.Abuelois looking down and is beyond happy for you.”

She turned to Wrench and wrapped her arms around him. He kissed her forehead. “You deserve this, Willow. But if he ever makes you cry, he’s a dead man.”

We all laughed as Willow returned to my side. We made our way around the barn as everybody congratulated us.

Lilah and Bambi had pizzas all down a large table. There were drinks at each end and cupcakes on another table. Bambi handed one to Willow and I and watched as we took a bit.

Willow moaned, “Holy shit these are so good. Did you make these, Bambi?”

She excitingly nodded. “I’ve been taking classes at the community college in the next town over! I’ve always wanted to learn to bake. I’m also taking a few business classes.”

Willow and Bambi hugged. “I’m so proud of you! You are going to do amazing. Let me know if you need help with anything, girl.”

Mama came over with tears in her eyes. I bent down and hugged her tight. “Oh, Silas! I am just so happy for you and Willow! Another daughter! Oh, I am just so excited.”

She turned to Willow and they hugged. “Oh, baby. I am so excited to have you officially in my family. You are my daughter now so anything you need just come on down. Even if you just want to vent or have somebody to talk to. I am always here for you.”

Willow started to cry again as she and Mama hugged some more. When they finally pulled apart and wiped the tears, Willow leaned into me.

“Maverick, this is all just perfect. The ring, the proposal, you. My life feels like a dream. You are my final adventure, my home, my life, all wrapped up in one beautiful package.”

I kissed the top of her head as we walked around the barn. We danced, we drank, we laughed and we cried. This was the best day of my life and I couldn’t imagine it getting any better.

As the night started to come to an end. Willow and I made our way back to our house. We stripped down and climbed into bed, exhausted from tonight’s event. As we cuddled into each other, I whispered in her ear, “I love you more than all the stars in the sky, baby girl. You will forever be my always.”
