Maverick
Icould see the Moteldown the road. Not wanting to let anybody know I was here, I parked my motorcycle on the side of the road and put some big branches over it. It was well hidden and I stepped away.
I quietly snuck through the woods until I came upon the motel parking lot. I didn’t see anybody outside so I slid over to the first floor. Quietly listening in on each door, I found the floor empty. I snuck up the stairs and do the same to each door on the second floor.
Coming up on the last door, I could hear mumbling voices. I didn’t hear Willow and that concerned me. I kicked open the door and was greeted by three Shadow Raiders members.
They all turned to me with shock on their faces. I launched toward them and started swinging. The three men tackled me to the ground and started beating on me.
I fought back with everything I had. All of a sudden, one of the men was lifted off of me. Another one was lifted off leaving just me and a guy who looks like he was already in a fight.
I smashed my hand into his face as he fumbled in his pocket. Grabbing his hand, I slammed it on the floor. “I don’t fucking think so. Now tell me where Willow is.”
The man laughed and I growled. I slammed my fist into his face again and blood started to spurt from his nose. “She’s fucking gone, man. But don’t worry, Snake is going to find her and when he does, she’s fucking dead.”
I grabbed his head and slammed it over and over into the floor until two hands were pulling me off of him. His lifeless body lay there, covered in blood and bruises.
I turned to fight only to find Striker and Goose behind me. They both looked pissed as hell.
Goose punched me in the shoulder, “What the fuck, Maverick? Do you know how stupid that was to just run off by yourself?”
Striker shook his head. “You could have been killed. Don’t ever do that again. Do you understand me?”
I nodded and sat down on the bed. “She’s not here. Willow isn’t even fucking here.” I sighed and let my head fall into my hands. “She could be out there hurt. What the fuck do we do now?”
A knock at the door made us all jump to attention. A tall, tan, black-haired man stood in the doorway. He had on a Shadow’s Raider vest on. When he noticed me staring at his patch, he put his hands in the air.
In a slight Spanish accent, he spoke, “I’m not here to hurt you. The name is Joker. I’m the Vice President of The Shadow Raiders.”
Striker stood up and walked toward him. “Lilah mentioned your name before. You’re Willow’s friend, right?”
Joker nodded. “Yes. I took care of Willow as we were growing up. I did not okay any of this. I tried to step in and save her but unfortunately, there is no compromising with our poor excuse for a President. Snake is...Snake is a dangerous man.”
I stood up and stalked over to him. “I don’t give a flying fuck about you or your club. I just want to find Willow. Where the fuck is she?”
Striker put his hand on my shoulder and I looked back at him. “Easy, Mav. He’s on our side.”
Joker nodded in agreement. “I helped Willow escape. I told her to run and I would be back for her soon. I was working on a plan when you guys showed up.”
“So where did she run? Where is Willow? We need to go and get her right now!”
“There’s a small shed in the woods and I told her to wait there. Sent her off with a blanket. We need to hurry and find her though. She fell pretty hard out the window and there are many other injuries as well.”
I started to feel sick to my stomach and stormed out of the dingy motel room. I needed fresh air and to find Willow. Joker came out behind me and put his hand on my shoulder.
“I’m so sorry. I tried my best to stop this madness. But please know, I have a plan to take over. Snake is running our club into the ground. I will never allow for this to happen again.”
I turned to him and shrugged. “We’ll see. All I care about is Willow. Do what you want, but there will be retribution for the damage done.”
Striker came out of the motel room and stood beside us. “He’s right. We can’t ignore the fact that he sent people into our territory, threatened my pregnant wife and kids, and caused chaos in our clubhouse.”
I slammed my hands on the railing. “Or kidnapped and hurt Willow. Speaking of, we need to get moving and start searching for her. It’s getting dark and cold.”
Goose came out of the room and the four of us headed down the stairs and to the back of the motel. The sun was starting to set and I knew we were running out of time.
The four of us started to trudge through the thick forest in search of the small shack. As the sun was setting, it was getting harder and harder to see.
A rustling in the woods made us all jump and we turned to see a shadow coming toward us. It barked and immediately recognized the bark;it was Orion!
