Lilah took out her cell phone and checked her messages. “Actually, I haven’t heard from her at all...”
I took my phone out and quickly called Willow. The phone rang and rang and then went to voicemail. Lilah’s face dropped and she dialed Willow’s number. Again, the phone rang and went to voicemail.
“Something is wrong, Lilah. I can feel it. She would have at least answered your call. Something is wrong.”
One of the new Prospects came running down the stairs and came up to Striker. “Pres we have a problem.”
We both looked up to see him covered in blood and clutching a piece of paper in his hands.
Lilah rushed over and sat him down. “What happened to you? Who did this?”
Striker growled and grabbed the paper from the prospect. “Little lark...”
She turned and glared at him then turned back to the prospect. “Let’s go, tell me what happened.”
“I was watching Willow when they came out of nowhere. Ambushed me while the others were on their way. I didn’t even hear them coming...When I woke up this paper was shoved in my mouth.”
He handed the note to Striker while Lilah tended to his wounds. Striker opened the paper up and his face went white. I rushed over to him and he handed the paper to me.
“Your precious Willow will soon spill all your club secrets. The Devil’s Highwaymen time is coming to an end. And soon, Willow will too. The Shadow Raiders.”
I crumpled the paper and threw it across the room. Nobody said a word. Goose and Bambi came down the stairs and stopped.
“Brother, what’s going on?” Goose rushed to me and guided me to sit on a barstool. “Mav, you gotta talk to me. Come on.”
I looked up at him and in a low voice told him what was going on. “Shadow Raiders have Willow. They’re torturing her for info on the club. They fucking took her, Goose.”
Bambi gasped and ran to me. “Maverick, it will be okay. We’re going to find her, okay? You gotta have faith. She’s a tough one.”
Lilah pulled out her phone and scrolled through her text messages. “She was near the old ranger station! They couldn’t have taken her too far. Can we start a search?”
Striker nodded. “You and Bambi go upstairs and be with the boys. Tell Knuckles Church. Right now.”
He kissed Lilah and she and Bambi headed upstairs. We all walked into Church and the other brothers started to fill in. Once we were all seated, Striker slammed the hammer down.
“Brothers. Once again, somebody thinks they can mess with the motherfucking Devil’s Highwaymen. Are we going to let them push us over?”
Everybody slammed their fists on the table and screamed. “NO!”
“Are we going to let a bunch of pussy ass bitches try and take over our territory?”
“NO!”
“Then let’s show those fucking pricks what happens when you mess with the baddest motorcycle club in the west!”
Everybody stood up and started screaming and pounding their fists. All of a sudden, the doors swung open and the Prospect, Erik, came in. Behind him, two of the other Prospects, Zane and Beckett, stood. Between them they had Zach. He looked horrible with a bloody nose and you could already see the bruises starting to form.
Striker walked over to them. “What the fuck is this? What is going on, Erik?”
Erik put his hands behind his back, “Found Zach inside the compound. He was sneaking around Lilah’s SUV. He tried to run, but we were too fast for him.”
Striker nodded and gestured toward Zach. “Who did the damage to him? And what the fuck did you use? Those are some nasty bruises.”
Erik smiled wickedly, “My hammer.”
Striker laughed and patted Erik on the back. “My man, very well done. Did you get anything out of him?”
“Yes, sir. He’s been torturing Willow and is actually a member of the Shadow Raiders. Can’t get a location out of him though.”
