He grabbed Lilah and pulled her into him, covering her mouth with his one hand. “Well, well, well. Nice to see you again, Willow. Cute little family you’re putting in danger today.”
Colton and Knox started to cry and I quickly picked them both up and pushed them into the car. Orion hopped in with them, still keeping an eye on the guy who had Lilah.
“Just leave her alone. Leave them all alone. I’m the one you want. I’m the one who Snake is after.”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. I’ve been keeping an eye on you, Willow. I know how close you’ve become with the trash around here. Very close to a certain Vice President. Quite the show you’ve put on on that porch.”
I felt sick to my stomach knowing that this creep watched while Maverick and I were intimate. “You’re disgusting. Now let’s just solve this by ourselves. If Snakes wants me, then just take me.”
I stepped closer to him and he started to reach out to grab me when we heard somebody yell behind us.
“LILAH!” Goose came running down the sidewalk, gun in hand. The Shadow Raiders member pushed Lilah toward me, causing us to tumble to the ground. I could hear the boys crying, Orion growling and then the sound of a motorcycle taking off.
Goose came running over and fell to his knees. “Lilah! Lilah are you okay? Jesus Christ, what just happened?”
Lilah sat up and offered her hand to mine, “Are you okay, Willow?”
“Don’t worry about me. Are you okay? Lilah, the baby!”
Goose carefully helped her up and into the passenger seat of the SUV. He then went to the back and pulled both boys into his arms. “Uncle Goose has got you, boys. Don’t worry.”
I stood and leaned in to check on Lilah. “Are you okay? Is the baby okay?”
“I’m fine, don't you worry. Really. I’m calling Striker.”
I nodded as I went to check on Colton, Knox, and Orion. I patted Orion’s head and kissed his nose, “Good job, boy. You did good protecting.”
Goose placed both boys in the car seats and then came around to me. “What the fuck happened here, Willow?”
I took a deep breath and stroked Orion, trying to calm down. “Snake sent him. From The Shadow Raiders. I’m so sorry I put them in danger.”
“Damn right you should be! Do you even understand how bad it would have been if Lilah lost the baby? Or got hurt? Striker would fucking lose it. I would fucking lose it!”
“I got it, Goose! Do you think I wouldn't feel bad? I love Lilah and the boys!”
“Do you, Willow? Because if you love somebody, you don’t put them in danger like that.”
I could feel the tears start to form in my eyes. I would never be welcome here. “Message received loud and clear. I’m not welcome here and never will be. I’ll pack my bags and leave.”
A deep voice echoed from behind me, “No you will not. You and your dog saved my boys twice now. And Savannah told me how you tried to put yourself in between that thug and my wife and offered yourself up in place of Lilah.”
I turned to see Striker with Lilah in his arms. “I’m so sorry about all of this. I didn’t mean to put anybody in danger.”
“Willow, it’s okay. They are scum who don’t give a shit about anything. We will deal with this. The Shadow Raiders threatened my family and now they have to deal with me.”
A rumble of a motorcycle made us all turn. Maverick came to a stop behind the SUV and ran toward me. He pulled me into him and kissed the top of my head. “Are you okay, babe? Did he hurt you? Jesus Christ.”
I looked up and kissed the underside of his chin, “I’m fine, Mav. Lilah and the boys are fine. We are all fine.”
He kissed the top of my head again before turning to Goose. “Thanks, Brother. I don’t know what I would have done if you weren’t here.”
Goose shrugged his shoulders, “If Willow wasn’t here, none of this would have happened.”
I could feel Maverick tense up and put my hand on his chest. Before I could get a word out, Striker stepped right into Goose’s face.
“Watch it, Goose. You’re next for probation if you keep it up. What were you even doing here today? You’re supposed to be at the Clubhouse for a delivery.”
Goose started to turn bright red when Ellie Jo came walking down the sidewalk. She pointed right at Goose and glared. “You! I have had it up to here with your antics!” She stopped as soon as she saw all of us standing around. “Oh my! Is everybody okay? What happened?”
