Willow was like his baby sister, but his Brothers were after her. This was truly a test of his loyalty to the club.
He knew what the right thing to do was. Joker stood and paced the living room until Willow appeared.
“I’m so sorry.”
Joker turned and rushed to Willow.
“No more crying. Everything will be okay. Let’s get you in the van, babe. I don’t want them to come looking for you.”
They both somberly walked outside and toward the garage. Orion quietly followed them, sticking close to Willow.
Joker threw the last of the bags into the van and turned to Willow. With a sad smile on his face, he pulled her into him.
“I’m going to miss you,Bonita. Make sure you keep an eye out at all times. I’ll try to save you as much as I can from here, but I can only do so much. Snake is a determined man.”
Willow nodded as the tears flowed down her face.
“I know. I love you, Joker."
“I love you, Willow. Now get in and go before Snake comes looking for us. Hurry and don’t ever look back at this town.”
––––––––
WILLOW DROVE FOR HOURSwithout stopping. She finally came to a little town and stopped for gas. This was her life now, a girl on the run.
This was going to take a lot of adjusting, but she had no other choice. Running was the only thing that would keep her and Joker safe now. If Snake found out that Joker had helped her, he would kill him on the spot.
Joker was the only family she had left and she couldn’t put his life on the line to save her ass. Willow needed to be strong for the both of them and get as far away as she could from town.
She sighed as she loaded up on snacks and got back on the road. Orion slept to her right, his paw on her leg as she drove.
How long could she run? Where was she going to go?
Willow looked up at the sky as she drove on the long stretch of the highway, hoping the stars would somehow guide her on the right path.
“Please show me where to go. What the fuck am I supposed to do now? Please give me some guidance.”
A small star twinkled above her and she smiled.
“Alright. Drive towards you and my new future.”
They followed the star through multiple states and covered hundreds of miles all over the midwest.
Willow found a new love in painting and learned to enjoy this gypsy lifestyle. But deep down, she was missing something and didn’t know what it was.
She knew leaving Joker behind was heartbreaking, but it was to keep them both safe. She just hoped he was okay and alive.
They only stayed a few nights in each small town before packing up and leaving, never getting close to anybody. Willow never gave more info than she needed to and only told people her first name.
Earning money was easy to fund them even further. She sold her paintings and occasionally painted a request if she was in a town long enough.
But once again, she craved more. Willow longed for normalcy and love. For somebody to look after her. To be protected and cared for. To be part of a family.
Unfortunately, Willow didn’t have that opportunity though. So she drove on and followed that tiny star high in the sky to her next destination.
