I let out a sarcastic laugh. “No. No, we don’t. Striker already gave me the whole talk.”
Wrench got closer to me, “Except he forgets to mention to treat her like a fucking lady. What happened to you? Look, I know we’re bikers, but we still treat ladies with respect. Yelling at that poor girl isn’t helping anybody. I’m on your side with her whole situation. But for the love of God, get your head out of your ass before you break her.”
“Fuck. Whatever man. I can’t deal with this. Keep an eye on her for the next few days. I can’t be in the same house with her right now.”
Wrench just nodded as I rushed down the stairs and out the door. I hopped on my bike and flew out the gates.
The wind whooshed past me as the fresh air cleared my head. I needed to get it together. I turned my motorcycle onto a back road that led up the mountains. The twisting road forced me to pay attention to it. As I got to the top, I stopped the bike and looked out over our town. Up here, I could breathe. Up here, I could think whatever I wanted to. Up here, I was just Silas Crawford.
I sat there until the sun started to set. Shaking my head, I started my bike and headed down the mountain. Goose would be at the clubhouse tonight so I texted him letting him know I was crashing at his place. I needed space and I needed alone time. That woman was making me feel all types of things that I avoided. I didn’t do relationships yet here she was, shaking up my whole world and putting me at odds with my brother and club.
Chapter Five
Willow
The Prospect, Erik, brought me home the other night. I hadn’t seen Maverick in a few days and Erik didn’t give me much information on what was going on. I figured he was pissed at me but didn’t think he was so mad that he couldn’t face me.
Wrench came to the house the past few days while Maverick was MIA. He brought me food, updates on my van, and kept me company. It was nice to have somebody care about me. Wrench reminded me of Joker a lot. They were both like big brothers to me. I had a feeling Maverick had told him to keep an eye on me, but Wrench certainly didn’t seem to mind.
We talked a lot about my van and how he could use help restoring old cars. I loved doing the interior and told him I would think about it. I didn’t want to make any promises since I wasn’t staying here for long.
I was at the clubhouse cleaning and chatting with Wrench at the bar when Lilah came in, her twins in tow. “Hey there, Willow! Hey, Wrench!”
“Hey there, Lilah! I’m gonna get going. Call me if you need anything, dear.” Wrench leaned down and kissed the top of my head as he headed out the door.
I smiled as I finished wiping down the bar. “Hey, Lilah! Hi, boys! Want some snacks?”
They both nodded and ran toward one of the couches. I grabbed some animal crackers I had stashed and brought them over to Colton and Knox.
“Yum! Yum!” They cheered as I opened the box and laughed.
“How are you doing today, Lilah? Need anything?”
Lilah just sat next to the boys and put her feet up on the arm of the couch. “I’m good, Willow. Thanks! This pregnancy is easy compared to the boys.”
I grabbed two water bottles and sat down on the chair across from the couch. The boys were watching a cartoon.
