“Listen up, everybody!” They were all standing around, full attention on Striker. “WE’RE HAVING A BABY!”

Everybody started to cheer and bang their fists on the bartop. My brothers came rushing over and pulled me into a big bear hug. The other members ran up to congratulate Striker before coming over to me.

I whispered into his ear, “My Mama already knows. We took about a million tests as soon as you left this morning.”

Striker turned to me laughing, “You sneaky little thing. Knew all along huh?” I just nodded as he wrapped me in another hug and kissed me.

Helping me off the bar, Striker sat me on a barstool and grabbed some water for me. “When can we get you into the doctor? Do you think it’s a boy or girl? What can we do for your morning sickness?”

I laughed as I pulled him into me, snuggling into his chest. “I’m sure Doctor Hank can get us in tomorrow. I have no clue and there’s nothing you can do except some extra cuddles. Oh and more crackers and tea.” Striker just laughed as he kissed the top of my forehead again.

“I can do that, Little Lark. Now, some serious business.” He pulled me back to look into my eyes. “I told your Ma I would put a ring on your finger before popping out some grandbabies. We got the ring part down, but I know I need to make an honest woman out of you. So, let’s get this wedding planning going. How about next month, at your ranch, the whole town there?”

I just shook my head while laughing. “I think we can do that, babe. Should be pretty easy. I’ve always wanted something simple. So it shouldn’t be too hard to plan.” He wrapped me in his arms and kissed me.

“Perfect! We could get married in brown paper sacks in the middle of the clubhouse and I would be happy. I just love you more than anything, Lilah.”

Kissing him back, I smiled to myself, “And I just love you, Striker.”

Bambi came running over in her six inch, knee high burgundy heeled boots, “Girl, I am so happy for you!” We gave each other a big hug as I sat back down on the bar stool.

“I seriously don’t know how you run in those. Hell, how you even walk in them! But thank you! We are so excited.” She gave me another big hug then reached down to pull her leather skirt back down and fix her burgundy velvet top. It was tucked into her skirt and the neckline plunged down to her belly button. “You look hot today, Bambi! Oh also, I totally need your help planning this wedding.”

She screamed and jumped up and down. “I LOVE weddings. And yes, of course. Like as soon as possible. We need to call Ellie Jo! She is so going to be all over this. That girl is obsessed with love. Oh my God, your cake is going to be gorgeous!” I laughed as she pulled me off the stool.

“Well, looks like I’ll be back later, babe. Gotta plan this wedding you want so fast.” I winked at Striker as Bambi pulled me away.

He quickly grabbed me and pulled me back toward him. Planting a kiss on my lips, he whispered, “I love you, Little Lark.”

I smiled and whispered back, “I love you more, Striker.”

As Bambi dragged me toward one of the tables, I looked back at the scene behind me. Striker was celebrating with his brothers, but still had his eye on me. I was one lucky woman to call him mine.

Striker winked as he grabbed another shot from Goose. My brothers were over the moon for the both of us and I knew my Mama would be so excited for a wedding. Looking out the window toward the mountains, my hand absentmindedly went toward my necklace.

I smiled knowing that my Daddy was looking down on me, jumping for joy up there. He always loved Striker and would be thrilled I was finally tying the knot with him. I sat back in the chair and smiled knowing my life was finally complete.
