I want to object. I know that inserting my stinger into her would be as pleasurable for her as it would be for me, but it wouldn’t be polite to mention my thoughts.

“You must not scream. I want to explain why I’m here and then leave you in peace. It would not be good for my mission if I left you in a frantic state.”

“Whatever you say, dream bee.” She shakes her head and chuckles.

I crawl off her—my body immediately missing her warmth—and stand at the side of her bed.

She sits up and swings her legs over the bed. She doesn’t seem frightened of me anymore. She wipes the remaining tears from under her eyes and swings her feet with a small grin.

I have impressive language skills, but I’m surprised at my ability to calm her with only the first few words ever spoken in her language. My heart pangs, realizing I must leave soon if she’s already so calm.

“You are not frightened anymore?” I ask.

“Not really. I’m just dreaming. I’ll wake up soon, and everything will return to normal.”

I should tell her this isn’t a dream, but maybe this is for the best. If I leave tonight and she thinks seeing me was her imagination, I don’t run the risk of setbacks on my mission. She won’t relay her sightings to her government, and I’ll have no fear of capture. A large part of me doesn’t want her to forget me. I’ll never forget her. The rational side of me wins. “Okay. There seems to be no reason to explain my mission to you then. Thank you for saving my life. I’ll be on my way.”

“No,” she yells, popping to her feet. “This is fun. I want to hear it.”

How can I deny her with her face lit up and her hair a disheveled mess, just waking up from her slumber? My mind races with images of falling asleep next to her—waking up to her, looking just this way. I clear my throat. “Well, as I said, I’m from The Colony, a planet many Lightyears away. Our planet’s population dwindles, and I’m the first sent to your Blue Planet to pollinate—helping both of our planets.”

“You mean Earth?” She steps closer to me, examining my face.

Tingles run down my spine. I can’t think with her standing this close to me. My throat closes as I try to find the words. “Is that what you call your planet?”

“Yes, welcome to Earth! I’m unsure how much it can help you, but we sure need more pollinators!”

My heart warms that she agrees with my mission. I was worried the females on this planet would oppose our pollinating efforts, but it’s clear Jennessa has no objections. It makes sensesince the females here hold a focus on sexual pleasure. The act must be more accepted here, like on the planet Forphia.

Jennessa presses her hand against my face. “Wow, you’re so soft. You feel so real.”

I pray to the gods above that she doesn’t look down to see my throbbing stinger. Nothing could have prepared me for the intensity of her touch. I’m speechless and want to hold her hand against me, never letting her leave me.

“You look just like a human except fuzzy. Well, I guess also besides being yellow and black and having wings and antennas.” She smiles and shakes her head, backing away from me. “Man, whatever was in that honey was some strong shit because this is absolutely bonkers.”

Did tasting my honey have the same effect on her as it had on me? A heat boils in my abdomen, and I step closer to her, unable to control myself.

She backs away, leaning against her bed when there’s nowhere else for her to step.

I loom over her, looking down at her parted lips and wide eyes. I can sense she wouldn’t mind if I touched her. She’s aroused, and I don’t even need my antennas to detect it. All I would need to do is remove the thin fabric covering her cunt and thrust my way inside. I bet she’s already dripping for me. In fact, her arousal drifts into my nostrils, making me delirious.

I reach down and touch her cheek.

She closes her eyes, pressing her face against my hand.

I lean down, ready to taste her lips. It’s not a custom from my planet, but I’ve seen the act of mating lips from other species, and hers beg for mine.

Just as I’m about to reach her, she giggles. “This is ridiculous.”

Her words knock me out of my trance, even if she doesn’t pull away. She’s right. This is ridiculous, and I’ve gone completelyoff-mission. I can’t waste more of my seed on this female. She’s not my perfect target, as much as it breaks my heart.

I pull back. “I’m sorry. I must go.”

Her eyes widened, the sparkle dimming from behind them. “Ah, come on. This dream was just about to get good.”

She still thinks this is a dream—an illusion. I don’t want to take her in this state, even if my stinger begs otherwise.

“You are not part of my mission. I must be on my way.” I turn before the sight of her, practically begging for me to pollinate her, distracts me further.
