“I wanted to get some plug-ins and more cleaning supplies. All of your things are running low,” she said.

“I didn’t even notice. I usually just get the shit from Ma Izzy’s stash at the house,” I revealed.

“Speaking of her. Have you called her back yet?” she asked. That made me remember that I hadn’t turned my phone back on, even though I had it on me.

“Nah. I still had my phone off.” I pulled my phone out of my pocket and powered it back on. As soon as I did, it started going berserk with notifications. It was so many I just knew my shit would freeze up.

“That sounds like a lot,” Daizha pointed out.

“Hell yeah.”

I looked, and it was so many that I’d be a fool to go through them all. Not bothering to check any of the notifications, I stuffed my phone back in the pocket of my sweatpants and followed Daizha around the store like a puppy. I was so focused on how nice her ass sat up in her tights that I didn’t even notice the unwarranted visitor standing beside me.

“Really, Demetric?” I broke my stare away from Daizha and focused on Paris’ duck ass standing beside me with her arms folded across her plumps breasts and her pretty face tight. I would appreciate all of that hadn’t it been for the fact that she was invading my space. I looked at Daizha briefly and she was still looking at the different bottles on the shelves, ignoring Paris’ presence.

“What you on, P?” I asked through squinted eyes.

“What am I on? I should be asking you that. I’ve been blowing you up to no avail, yet I find you here with her like y’all a couple or something.”

“We are,” I stated.

“Wh…what? Are you serious?” I heard the crack in her voice and immediately started to get pissed off.

“How could you do this to me?” She cried. “I love you,” she declared.

“Since when?”

“Since forever!” she yelled, stomping her foot like a fuckin’ toddler throwing a temper tantrum.

“Man, P. Watch out. You ain’t never told a nigga you loved him before today and then you do that shit in front of my girl like that was going to change something. Watch yo’ ol’ goofy ass out.” I was done talking to her ass. “Bae, you ready?”

“Old? Did you just call me old?” she asked.

“I said watch out, Paris. You know I wasn’t saying that shit in that context. Stop acting like you in Walmart and get the fuck on, bruh.” I gave her a menacing look that let her know to stop fuckin’ testing me. After a brief stare down between me and Daizha, she stomped off like a spoiled brat. Daizha looked at me before going back to what she was looking at on the shelf. She was upset, and she had every right to be. I probably looked at Zeus like a fuck nigga right now, but he told me when I met the one I would know and to always make sure she was protected and never let her be upset. I stepped around the cart and placed the items she had in her hand inside before pulling her body into mine and snuggling her neck before I placed a kiss on her lips.

“You mad?” I asked.

“No. I don’t have a reason to be mad.”

“You do. Don’t ever think that your feelings are never valid, Dai. I’m not that kinda nigga to the ones that matter. I can’t control Paris’ dumb shit, but I can do my best to keep the shit to a minimum. In the meantime, feel free to handle her ass as you see fit. Aight?” I looked down at her and a smile eventually graced her pretty ass face. After pecking her lips and giving her ass another squeeze, we finished shopping so we could go grab some food.

“What you got a taste for?” I asked as we left Target’s parking lot.

“I can go for some barbecue,” she suggested. I nodded in agreement and headed to Angie’s. She had the best barbecue in New Grove, and I was ready to smash my plate just thinking about it.

The parking lot was littered with cars, so I knew that I would have to wait for our food. Right then, I knew I was getting my shit to go. Once I opened her door and helped her out of the car, we went inside to place our order. The takeout area wasn’t that bad, but it was still a substantial amount of people in front of us. I had Daizha sitting in my lap because I felt the need to have her close. We sat and waited for about thirty minutes, and after complaining after the first twenty, we had our food and leaving. When we walked outside, I knew it was going to be some shit. That nigga, Gabe called his self approaching us with a smirk on his face.

“How’s the unemployment office, Daiz?” he asked with a smirk on his face. I didn’t even give her a chance to answer before I did.

“She wouldn’t know because her nigga is paid.” It was my turn to smirk as I watched his disappear.

“Her nigga? I’m her fuckin’ nigga! I’m just letting you borrow the hoe!” I couldn’t do anything but laugh at this clown because he was going out of his way to look like a damn fool.

“Man, watch out before you piss me the fuck off,” I growled.

“Nigga, fuck you and that bi…” I didn’t even let him finish his sentence before I was forcing those words back down his throat with my fist. This nigga really didn’t know who he was playing with, but I had no problems showing him. We tussled around for a few minutes before I rocked his shit, causing him to stumble to the ground. Just as I was about to stomp his ass out, I felt Daizha touching my arm.

“Let’s just go. They probably already called the police.” I saw the way she was looking, and I started to feel bad for doing that shit in front of her. “Don’t look like that. I’on care about that nigga. I don’t want you to get in trouble. Now, come on. Let’s go. Taking her hand, I led her back to the car and then got in. As we pulled out of the parking lot, Ma Izzy was hittin’ my line. Hesitantly, I answered.
