It’s fucking weird.
Logan rolls his shoulders to get rid of the odd sensation, then slumps back against the wall, relaxing. A little. Enough to feel it like a small collapse in his bones and muscles. It’s weird enough that he takes stock of the situation as if this odd calm is a threat. Which it is. It’s a new and unusual feeling that he’s only experiencing because a Dominant is close by and affecting him. Does it matter that it’s pleasant? There is no harsh buzz of energy, no anger or the heightened sense of danger that he always gets when he’s near Dominants—and which he uses to shore up his own defenses.
This is something very different.
It’s got to be the drugs. Whatever Logan took isn’t working, and whatever they gave Robert is working too well.
“They sedated you,” Logan says.
No response. He might be unconscious.
Every Dominant wants to have the last word. The next time he meets Robert it will be different. Robert will buzz against his skin, stinging and sharp. And that will trigger Logan’s fear and anger just like every other Dominant he’s ever fucking met.
This is a one-time deal.
Maybe he should just… enjoy it?
Perish the thought.
It’s novel. And nice.
Besides, Robert isveryDominant. Logan doesn’t know how he can tell, but there’s a real presence to Robert that some part of him recognizes as power.
When the drugs wear off and he meets Robert in another setting, it’s likely he will be the most annoying Dominant Logan has ever fucking met.
And he’s undoubtedly an asshole.
A bad attitude and narcissism are the norm for Dominants. They’re entitled and obnoxious, demanding and greedy. It just goes with the designation.
That’s reality.
Which means all of this is an aberration.
Submissives claim that Dominants make them feel safe, but Logan has never understood what the hell that means.
Until now.
This small window of time is the only glimpse of it he’s ever had.
He knows submissives who swear Dominants are capable of love.
Logan doesn’t believe it. Submissives can tell themselves whatever romantic nonsense they need to so they can bend over and take it when their cycle comes around, but Logan isn’t a chump.
He’s happier knowing the truth.
But he’s pretty sure he’s caught just the edge of that submissive dream due to Robert’s chemically induced state, and he might never be the same again.
Surely that’s melodramatic. Right?
His eyes fill with tears at the idea of meeting Robert again and not feeling like this.
Tears! Jesus, it isn’tthatgood, Logan tells himself. He needs to get his shit together and fast.
And yet, Logan feels an intangible, almost cloying need to get closer. Get warm. Be protected.
While he can.
Logan shifts in his seat, uncomfortable. He clenches every muscle, even theinternalones, because every part of his body is reacting to the Dominant. He’d like to be beside Robert. In front of him. He’d drop to his knees. Hell, he’dlivebetween the man’s spread legs.
