“You went to the guard booth like that?” I should fire everyone who saw her.
She pushes the door open. “He came right to gate. I met the guard as he was bringing it for me. I wouldn’t go out the front gate like this.”
“You shouldn’t leave the pool house like that, period.” I set the pizza on the table.
“Excuse me?”
“Don’t go out like that.” I can’t stop myself.
She laughs. “No, no, Rhet. You don’t fuck me, I work for you, you don’t finance me, and you don’t feed me. So you don’t have any rights at this moment.”
“I do finance you. I could fire your ass on the spot.”
“Do it.” She raises her eyebrow, daring me.
I’m about to speak when her phone rattles on the kitchen counter. I look down at it and then back at her. She has that stupid grin she gets for the York dog. She picks the phone up.
“Is he coming over?” I enquire.
Jealousy eats at me. I should tell her to keep her rendezvous out of my pool house, but how can I see when he’s coming? I’m turning psycho.
“No, I needed to chill by myself tonight.” She places her phone on the kitchen counter.
“Oh, well I should go.” I turn leave
Please, tell me stay.
“You can stay and have pizza. It’s half cheese and the other is spinach and feta.” She opens the cupboard and reaches for two plates. As she stretches, the shorts ride up her ass, revealing her smooth ass cheeks.
“Shit. Let me get it before you break them.” That came out too rough. I’m failing miserably at this. I step behind her, she smells spicy and sweet. Her scent makes my blood run hot. I step away and pass her the plates.
“Take what you want.” She slaps two slices of pizza on her plate and walks to the sofa.
“There’s soda in the fridge if you want,” she calls over her shoulder.
I snag an orange soda and sit next to her on the sofa.
She moans as she sinks her teeth into the cheesy dough.
“I guess you love pizza?” I bite into it, and I get why she moaned. This is a perfect balance of cheese to dough.
“Why are you home? You have a date tonight.” She licks her fingers. I swallow because I know how her tongue feels.
“I cancelled.” I take a sip of my soda.
“What? Why? Did I get the place wrong?” She looks at me puzzled. What the hell does she think of me?
“No, I wasn’t in the mood, you know.” I shrug.
She nods. Thankfully, she doesn’t question it. This makes no sense, my actions, being here. I should call Cole, Jasper, Dax and Tarek and see what they’re up too.
“What do you need to discuss with me for tomorrow night? And what time should I be there?”
Nothing. I have nothing to discuss because I didn’t think that shit through.
“The event starts at 8:00 p.m. I will need you there in the morning to help the staff there and well, you can return for the event in the evening.”
She furrows her eyebrows. “In the morning? To do what exactly?”
