Page 91 of Rhet

As I get up and walk pass him, Rhet, stops me by holding my arm.

“You leave with me.” He commands.

“You better let my arm go. You are acting like a Neanderthal.” I say through my teeth. I can feel people’s eyes on us.

“Everything alright here?” someone says to the side of us.

“Hey Tarek, I am just picking up my PA.” Rhet replies neither of us looking in his direction.

I pull my arm out of his grip and I walk quickly to the front of the restaurant. I stop at the coat check, collect my jacket and make my way to the front. I can see Penny standing outside waiting for me through the glass doors. As they slide open, I hear Rhet calling my name.

RHET

I dash through the glass doors shouting Zeeta’s name. She is angry, she has every right to be. I am acting like a cave man, but I feel like I have no control, where she is concerned.

“Rhet what’s going on?” Tarek hustles behind me. I have no time explain.

“Zeeta I know you hear me calling your name.” The last glass door slides closed behind me. I stop as she swings around to look at me.

“Hi I’m Penny.” The person behind her says, but my sight is fixed on Zeeta.

She swings around and walks to me. She stabs her finger in my chest “Who the hell do you think you are?”

“Let’s go home before we make a scene.” I go to reach for her and I change my mind.

“A scene? Like the stunt you just pulled. Now you’re concerned with making a scene.”

Her cheeks are flushed. A wind passes and whips her hair around her face. I want to say more, but I chose to remain silent.

“Hi I’m Penny.” Her friend walks to the side to greet Tarek.

“Tarek, nice to me you.”

I look across at the two people that are supposed to be our best friends.

Penny, dark grey coat, with a black Game of Thrones T-shirt and jeans is a stark contrast to Tarek’s charcoal grey suit.

“So, this is Glass House?” she rocks on her heel and looks up at the imposing restaurant. Her red locks are styled in a high ponytail.

“Yes, this is my baby. Want to come in and have dinner with me?” Tarek asks his silver eyes never leave Penny’s.

Zeeta huffs as she takes in Tarek and Penny.

“Um I couldn’t I’m not dressed for it. Plus I am here for Zee.” Penny states as she flicks her head toward Zeeta.

“I own the place, plus you can have anything you want for free.” Tarek likes her, he only eats with people he likes.

They both look at us like they’re waiting for us to say yes.

“That sounds great, but I have to carry Zee home,” Penny looks at Zeeta “Zee its free food from the Glass House...” Penny bites the corner of her lip, her eyes plead at Zeeta.

Zee shakes he head “Are you kidding me? You know what, go ahead, and eat for both you and me.”

The valet brings my car to the front and passes me my fob.

Penny and Tarek disappears into the restaurant.

I place my hand on Zeeta’ back.
