Carson touches the gun. “I will kill you, Carson. Leave the gun alone.”

Leaning forward, I drag my gun off the table and add a new magazine to it. “I wasn’t the only person that wanted Trent dead.”

Ignore his words, I will not be distracted.

“Injection number one is super combo it’s Ricin, a poison. It’s found in castor beans. The fun part is it can’t be detected in your biological fluids. So much for murder.”

Carson swallows his face becoming pale his eyes glazing over. I take the ricin off the table, and we are left with one injection.

“The other is potassium and a secret ingredient.”

His furrows his brows. “You’re going to kill me with a chemical element found in bananas?”

I shake my head. “Pick the injection up. No tricks because I will shoot you.”

With trembling hands Carson picks up the syringe with potassium in it

“Lean close, I want a good view when you do this.”

“Do what, boy? I’m not doing shit. I will call my guards.”

“They won’t reach you in time to save you. I have no problem dying,”

He inhales and looks at the injection and exhales.

“You’re going to inject yourself under the tongue with it.”

He laughs. “You are giving me banana minerals. Stupid boy.”

I point my gun at him. He opens his mouth and injects himself under the tongue. His eyes waters are the needle enters his tongue. He pulls it out and sits it on the table between us.

“What now, do you want me to spin in a circle, while rubbing my tummy?” Carson chuckles as he places the syringe on the table.

It’s done, this part of my life has come to an end, Trent is finally getting the peace he deserves.

Carson begins to cough and holds his chest. “What’s happening?”

“Potassium when injected into the blood stream causes cardiac arrest. In a few minutes, you will die from a massive heart attack.”

He claws at his throat, trying to vomit it out. However, it’s already in his blood stream.

“The police, the police.”

“Will never know, by the time they do the toxicology report, the potassium levels in your blood stream will appear to be normal.” I pick up the injection packing everything thing away, feeling numb to it all as Carson dies slowly on the sofa.

“You know what’s interesting, Carson? Because you injected your tongue, by the time they do the autopsy your skin would have retracted enough so it will conceal the injection site.”

His eyes bulge in fear, his face pales.

“So, in the eyes of the law, you had a heart attack.” He grips his chest, coughing.

Most likely, I’ll go to hell for this, but as long as Trent gets to stay in heaven, I’m good.

Sweat runs down Carson’s face, veins pop up on the face.

“Forgive me,” he says as he tries to reach for me.

“Never,” I whisper.
