“I need a condom.”

“I’m on the pill.” I’d never gone without, and I’d surprised him. “Unless, that is… you need that?” He had Jasper after all. He knew the risks of what could come even when you were trying to be safe.

“I’m clean and I trust you. And there’s nothing more that I want to feel thanallof you wrapped around me. You sure?”

I nodded. I was absolutely sure.

A wicked smile curled his lips up right before he slammed his mouth to mine. “Definitely perfect, Eden. At least for me.”

His thick head nudged at my center, and Cole grabbed one of my legs, widening me and he pressed against me. The intrusion stole my breath.

“Relax,” he whispered against my mouth. “Just relax. I’ll go slow, I promise.”

Nothing had prepared me for this. His size was large, the strain of his body was evident as he took his time and finally, the head of his cocked pressed inside of me and all the tension I’d held dissipated.

“Perfect,” I rasped. “Oh my God you feel incredible.”

He huffed against my mouth, grunted something that sounded likesameas he continued sliding inside of me, an inch at a time, pulling out, pressing in. I felt himeverywhereinside of me. In my heart. My soul. The most private parts of me were consumed as Cole finally seated himself deep and paused.

He pushed up on his arms, brushed hair off my forehead. “You doing okay?”

“Never better. But you’re going to have to move soon.” I was already rolling my hips, searching for that delicious friction of my clit against him.

“My pleasure, Eden.” And then Cole moved. With his hand at my thigh, he pushed it farther out and as he began rocking his hips, his other went to my clit. Between his fingers, the thick fullness inside of me that pressed against all the exact right parts, it wasn’t long before I was clawing at his thigh, his backside, anywhere I could reach to anchor myself against the slow and hard and absolutely perfect onslaught that was everything Cole.

The muscles in his throat strained as he moved and his fingers would leave marks at my thighs, but all I saw was the man who loved me.

The man who would always take care of me.

The man I’d run from who I never wanted to see in my rearview again.

“Cole!” I cried out his name and he slammed his lips to mine to silence me. I groaned against his mouth.

“Come on, Eden.” His hips were hard and powerful against me, the slapping of our skin loud enough to wake the town and when I came, I tore my mouth off Cole’s and bit down on his shoulder, crying out as pleasure whipped through me with the force of a hurricane, tore me out to sea, beyond, and brought me back with the peace that only came after the most powerful storm.

Cole grunted and thrust his hips against mine. He groaned my name into my ear as his entire body shuddered. I felt him. The heavy pulsing of his release inside of me and I wrapped my hands around his back to hold him against me.

He’d been right earlier.

I was perfect for him.

And Cole, he was even better than that for me.

I woke to the first hint of the morning sun peeking in through the sheer blinds, the curtains left open last night, and the warm tickle of Cole’s breath at my neck. Stretching my legs, I flinched at the slight sting of pain in between my thighs from last night and I took a moment to revel, enjoy the fact that for once in my life, it truly seemed like everything I’d desperately wanted was not only within reach, but had been handed to me.

Yes, there were obstacles we were going to need to overcome, issues I still needed to find healing with, but Cole had made me a promise the night before, and I was desperate to cling to it.

Keep holding on.

“You’re thinking so loudly you woke me up,” Cole muttered, and his arm tightened over where he’d draped it around me. “What are you worried about?”

“For once.” I turned, and the bed shifted as he pushed up so his head was braced in his hand, elbow to the mattress. “I don’t think I was actually worried.”

A sleepy hint of a smile curled his lips. “Good. As much as I hate to say this, I should probably get going. Selma will get Jasper to school, but I have a morning practice before we fly out later.”

Right. Because he needed to hop on a plane and head to Tampa Bay.
