“I’ll show you to your room.”

“Don’t bother. I’m fine in the shuttle,” Blaine said and walked out of the house before he did something he would regret. What made him angrier was the fact that Wayden had stopped him every time Blaine wanted to give Ambrose a piece of his mind.

Why was Wayden saving that evil, two-timing omega’s feelings? Wayden should be hating Ambrose, not being nice to him.

What was even going on in the damn family? And why was he getting worked up over some ex who had no place in Wayden’s life? Wayden was in love with him. He was devoted to him. Blaine shouldn’t care what that little shit did.

But Blaine fucking cared. He didn’t want any omega smiling at Wayden, ex or no ex.

Wayden is mine, Blaine silently screamed. He stopped moving as the single thought echoed in his mind over and over.

“He’s mine,” Blaine said. He placed his hand over his pounding heart. “He’s mine. He’s mine.”

“What?”

Wayden?

Chapter 21

Wayden

Fuck, Wayden thought as he watched Blaine walk out of the room. It had been a miracle Blaine had held back for this long. Wayden was still amazed that Blaine had obeyed him every time he’d stopped Blaine from saying anything.

Wayden knew he might be reading too much into it, but it had felt like when an omega obeys his alpha. Blaine had submitted to him so completely and so beautifully that it took Wayden’s breath away every time.

Wayden itched to follow Blaine, but he held himself back as all kinds of emotions surged within him. If he followed Blaine right then, Wayden might do something he’d regret because Blaine wasn’t ready for it. Wayden had to give him time. But fuck… he wanted nothing more than to follow Blaine and claim him.Wayden longed to get bonded to Blaine, preferably soon. He couldn’t fucking wait.

Fuck this dinner. He had to follow his omega.

Wayden turned to his brother, only to find Ckson staring at him.

“I’ll walk you out,” Ckson said getting to his feet.

“But… but we’re not done with dinner,” Ambrose whined.

“Stay and eat then,” Ckson said in a stern voice. He walked around the table and waited for Wayden to get up. Wayden got to his feet and walked out of the dining room.

“Why are you being mean to your omega?” Wayden asked, making sure to put emphasis on “your” because Ambrose belonged to his brother now. Wayden couldn’t fucking believe he’d come here after all that. But it didn’t hurt anymore. Wayden didn’t care what Ckson and Ambrose did. Meeting Blaine was the best thing that had ever happened to him.

“He’s not mine. You know that,” Ckson said walking towards the front door. He came to a stop and turned towards Wayden. “You should actually thank me, because I stopped you from making the biggest mistake of your life. If it wasn’t for me, you would be bonded to Ambrose. I doubt you would be as happy as you are now.”

“What?” Wayden walked up to his brother, all the anger he’d buried long ago surfacing. “I know you didn’t just say that to me. You… you slept with him, even though you knew how much I loved him. You didn’t save me from shit. You did what you’ve always done. Take. You take everything, Ckson. Everything just has to belong to you because you’re an aggressive alpha and all that bullshit. And you don’t care what happens to the rest of us. Why did I even come back here?” Wayden walked to the door, but Ckson gripped his arm to stop him.

“Ambrose was never yours, Wayden.”

“Clearly!” Wayden shouted. “You made him yours.”

“You’re not listening to me. Calm down and listen to me. I’ve tried to tell you what happened back then, but you never listened to me. And I understand. You were hurt and it’s not easy finding out that the person you love doesn’t love you.”

“And you’re an expert how? You’ve never been in a relationship except with Ambrose. And I never asked. Is he your true mate? Do you love him? Does he love you? You’re living together. It must be mutual love then.”

“We’re not living together, Wayden. He came to visit me. He comes here from time to time, hoping to see you. But you’re never home.”

“Whose fault is that?”

“Are you going to blame me forever? You found your true mate, everything worked out.”

“What?”
