“I think he scared of the cub,” Owen blurted out. The others laughed, and the next thing Blaine knew there was a squirming cub in his arms. Blaine tried to return him, genuinely scared that he might drop him. But Owen only laughed at him. “You have to get used to it. What are you going to do when you have a cub of your own?”

“Nothing, because that will never happen. Ever,” Blaine said just as the cub stopped squirming and stared up at him with unfocused eyes.

What are you staring at? Blaine silently asked the cub.

“Ohhh… I think he likes you,” Owen swooned, making Blaine groan. “Okay, I’ll take him. There’s no help for you.” Owen took the cub away from him. The other omegas gave him curious glances, as if he was a strange one.

Yeah, maybe he was strange.

Wayden

Wayden had never thought he would say this. Sleeping alone was a bitch. He missed Blaine’s warm body next to his. Not that the room was cold or anything; the bed just felt empty and too big, which was crazy because he’d done a lot of his fieldwork using the shuttle. The bed had been fine. As a matter of fact, he preferred it to his bed back home.

Was he that used to sleeping with Blaine that he couldn’t sleep alone anymore?

The answer was an emphatic “yes”. He needed his omega.

Wayden’s heart was in it, even if he didn’t want it to be. He was tired of fighting it.

He stared at the door, wishing Blaine would walk in that very second. But he wasn’t going to have his omega any time soon. Apparently, spending one day with Green wasn’t enough. The omegas needed more days to help Green with his cub. Two days had gone by, and they were still in Green’s hut. Wayden wondered how they all fit in there. When they’d first arrived, Escala had made it sound like there wasn’t enough room for either him or Blaine in one of the huts. And because Wayden hadn’t wanted to inconvenience anyone he hadn’t asked. Now there was room in one damn hut for every damn omega in the pack, including Blaine.

Wayden knew he was being petty, but he was lonely, irritable and tired of being alone with his thoughts and his heart. Now, that he’d finally admitted his feelings to himself, Wayden was a little worried… because… he didn’t know what Blaine would do. It had been more than forty-eight hours.

Yet Blaine hadn’t said anything. Every time they saw each other in the main hut, the omega just waved and moved to be with the other omegas. Wayden couldn’t very well pull Blaine aside and ask him what he’d decided to do. He didn’t want to come off as pushy or desperate. But he was desperate… so desperate. His heart was at stake after all.

Worse of all he couldn’t stop thinking about what Blaine had said. The damn words kept playing non-stop in Wayden’s mind, messing with his body. He’d been hard for fucking two days.

Why had Blaine told him that he wanted his knot? Why? Wayden groaned.

He turned over onto his stomach. He hissed as his cock met the mattress. The friction was so good. Wayden’s hips rocked automatically against the mattress, wanting more. He flipped onto his back, frustrated with himself. Blaine was torturing him on purpose, wasn’t he?

Wayden wouldn’t put it past that little devil to play games with him. Blaine liked to see him squirm. From the moment they’d met, Blaine had made it his mission to torment him. Blaine knew Wayden was waiting for him. Was he going to let the torture continue for another day?

Probably, Wayden answered his own question. Irritated by how much this was getting to him, he turned onto his side and stared at the moonlight spilling into the room. Wayden didn’t know how long he’d stared at the window when he finally drifted off to sleep. A few seconds later, he jerked awake when he heard movement in the shuttle.

Wayden sat up. He’d left the door unlocked just in case Blaine decided to come to him. Wayden stared at the bedroom door waiting… impatiently. Blaine was here… finally.

Anticipation thrummed through his veins, as the door was pushed open. Blaine gasped, coming to a sudden stop.

“You scared me. I thought you’d be asleep,” he said.

“I was,” Wayden said, waiting for him to get closer. Blaine just stood there and stared.

The torture continued. Wayden balled his hands into fists and forced himself to wait. The omega had to come to him. He had to fucking wait. He was in the shuttle. That was progress.

“Are you guys done taking care of Green and his cub?” Wayden asked.

“No. The other omegas are still there.”

“And you?”

“I… uhhh…” Blaine looked at the floor, shyly.

Wayden bit the inside of his mouth as a wave of desire hit his body. He loved it when Blaine looked bashful and unsure of himself. It made him look endearing and innocent. Now, that Wayden knew that Blaine had been innocent before he touched him, he knew that it wasn’t an act.

“Come here,” Wayden commanded. Blaine glared at him, before he moved towards the bed. He was going to fight him all the way. Wayden hid a smile.
