“They think there’s something going on between us. And you fighting with me every second doesn’t help.” Wayden stared at Blaine’s neck and then looked away. He picked out a fur coat and walked to him. Wayden took off the coat he’d given Blaine. “Arms up,” Wayden commanded.

“When did I fight with you?” Blaine asked. “I haven’t even said anything since we arrived here.”

“You don’t have to say anything for you to fight with me. The look in your eyes says it all. And you’re always tense around me,” Wayden said.

“That’s because…” Blaine trailed off, biting the inside of his mouth. He couldn’t tell Wayden why he was tense around him, because Blaine didn’t understand it himself. It didn’t make any sense. Blaine hated Professor Douche. He wanted nothing from the alpha. All Blaine wanted was to defeat Wayden, like he’d done other alphas. He wanted to prove that omegas were above all alphas, that they could go toe to toe with an alpha and emerge the victor. He wanted to see Wayden break and crumble.

However, Blaine's emotions had somehow got entangled. He was weirdly attracted to Professor Douche. And Blaine hated it. No other alpha had ever made him feel this way.

“Raise your arms, Blaine,” Wayden rumbled, sending tingles down Blaine’s spine. Blaine’s cock jerked in his pants, his hole growing wet and needy. All his omega instincts, the ones he’d suppressed all his life, rushed to the surface and Blaine wanted nothing more than to get close to the alpha in front of him. To do everything in his power to coax the alpha to take him to his bed, to fuck him until the ache in between his legs disappeared. The need was so strong – visceral – something Blaine couldn’t deny.

He wanted Professor Douche.

“Blaine.” Wayden’s voice hardened, melting his insides. Blaine gritted his teeth, resisting the feeling. But it seemed to intensify the longer Wayden stared him down. His alpha scent thickened, swirling around Blaine, making him a little dizzy. Blaine couldn’t resist him. His arms twitched as he slowly complied.

I fucking hate you, Blaine thought, wishing he could tell Professor Douche to fuck off. But he couldn’t.

Blaine’s stomach fluttered as Wayden helped him put on the coat. Wayden’s fingers brushed along Blaine’s neck as he turned the collar for him. Blaine shivered. The need to lean into Wayden and feel his warmth gripping him – tight.

No.

“I got it,” Blaine said, stepping away from him. Fuck, he needed to get himself under control. He buttoned up the coat, feeling warm immediately.

“Here. I think these will be enough for our stay here.” Wayden threw a couple of pants and a pair of boots Blaine’s way. “Now, let’s get to work. I asked Escala if it was okay to record and he gave his permission,” Wayden said walking out of the hut without waiting for a reply.

Chapter 10

Wayden

Keep walking. Don’t look back.

Wayden forced himself to walk up the slippery path to the shuttle, even though everything inside him urged him to go back to Blaine. He balled his hands into fists as the desire grew stronger. He wanted to go back and help the little devil into another coat and another, until he satisfied the weird feeling inside him. It had felt good to take care of the omega. And the feel of Blaine’s skin against Wayden’s hand had felt so good, Wayden longed to touch him again.

Wayden rubbed the tingly sensation in his fingers away. He hadn’t meant to touch Blaine. It had just happened.

And calling him baby that time just happened too?

Fuck.

Wayden looked over his shoulder at the hut, hoping Blaine hadn’t noticed that slip up. Wayden didn’t even know what had gotten into him. He just… he rubbed the back of his neck feeling out of sorts. Blaine was complicating his life, making him do things he shouldn’t do. Wayden sighed when he thought of what had happened earlier that morning. Blaine walking in on him while he was… Wayden’s face turned warm.

Forget about it, he told himself.

Thinking about it would just make it worse. He walked into the shuttle and gathered everything he needed to start work. He went to the main hut, where Escala was seated in front of the fire with his pack. They looked like one big family, all warm and cosy. Wayden quickly set up the recorder and eased into a chair a few paces from the pack to observe their interactions. Blaine walked into the hut a few minutes later. He was dressed in the coat Wayden had picked out for him. Wayden had thought Blaine wouldn’t wear it. The omega was so combative that Wayden wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d come back still wearing his thin jacket.

Wayden’s heart did a funny little dance at the sight.

Dammit, he shook his head and looked away. He shouldn’t like anything Blaine did. He shouldn’t be pleased that Blaine had listened to him for once – that the omega obeyed him. But Wayden did.

This was fucking crazy.

Wayden tried to focus on the pack in front of him, but his eyes kept drifting to Blaine. He couldn’t help it. The omega really looked good in that coat. Wayden noticed other alphas glance at Blaine too and he hated it. A dark, possessive feeling welled inside Wayden, causing his wolf to surge to the surface to fight, to claim Blaine and show his dominance.

No, Wayden groaned, shoving it back. He breathed a sigh of relief when he felt his wolf settle inside of him. At times likethese, Wayden was glad he was not an aggressive alpha like his brother. The last thing he needed was to start acting all territorial. He didn’t need his alpha instincts involved in this messed up situation.

Blaine was the worst kind of omega to have the slightest feelings for. The little shit would laugh in his face if he knew how he felt about him.

Focus on work, Wayden told himself. He looked away from the alphas to focus on the pack. The pack members came in and out of the hut, talking to Escala and going about their daily life.
