Page 6 of Collateral Omega

Xaine growled, shutting the omega up. He didn’t need to know that.

“On your hands and knees,” Xaine commanded, as he got closer. The omega scrambled to his knees, much to Xaine’s pleasure. He loved it when they submitted to him without question.

Xaine’s nose twitched, automatically sniffing the air for the omega’s scent. But as always, the omega smelled like nothing. Xaine asked the service omegas to use scent blockers, so he didn’t get fixated on one.

The service omegas never wanted to be with him more than once because they couldn’t handle his demands.

Xaine pulled off his clothes and climbed on the bed. And for the next hour he tried to work out the tension in his body, reminding himself with every thrust to keep to the terms and conditions stipulated in the contract he’d signed. Even though he wanted to sink his claws into the omega’s hips and grip him tighter, bite his nape, leave scratches on his unblemished skin. Xaine stared at his claw-tipped fingers as he fought hard with his instinct and desires.

Chapter 1

One year later

Holi

“Do I really have to do this?” Holi whined.

“Do you want to get bonded to a wealthy alpha?” His father asked, making his way to the door. The last party we attended was a total failure. You didn’t even try to engage with any of the alphas I introduced you to.”

That’s because I didn’t know how to talk to them. Holi flushed, embarrassed all over again. He’d felt so unsure of himself turning mute when the alphas had spoken to him. He didn’t do it on purpose…he just…he became so shy.

“We need help. Omegas from wealthy families take lessons too. I know I should have hired a coach sooner, but its better late than never. Pay attention to everything he teaches you. He came highly recommended,” Holi’s father said, opening the door for a finely dressed and handsome omega who seemed to be about Holi’s father’s age. The older omega smiled brightly, making Holi feel like he was staring at a ray of sunshine.

Wow, Holi thought as he watched the omega step into the house. He greeted them warmly.

“My name is Hamin, and you must be Lile,” he said.

“Yes, and this is my baby Holi. Isn’t he gorgeous?” his father said, making Holi blush all over again. Holi stared down at his feet shyly.

“Oh no…no…no…” Hamin said, coming closer. “He is gorgeous, but no one can see that face if he keeps hiding it like that. I can see we have a lot of work to do.”

“He’s shy around strangers, that’s all,” his father said, easily coming to Holi’s defence. Holi silently groaned. His father would say anything to make him look good. “He’s a fast learner though.”

“I’m sure he is,” Hamin said, clapping his hands. The sound caused Holi to jerk and look up. “Shall we begin?”

“Yes, this way. You can use the sitting area,” Holi’s father said, walking to the room. Holi and Hamin followed him there. Hamin moved the couches to the wall to create some space in the middle of the room. “Oh, sorry. I should have prepared the room for you.”

“Don’t worry about it. You didn’t know what I would need, since we didn’t have a consultation beforehand. I don’t usually start working with an omega without having met and assessed them first. But I understand your situation. You don’t have time for him to take the one-year course. Besides, things are tense right now after the Deltta Kohle scandal. There’s no telling what the council of alphas will decide. Let’s hope they decide soon, so our planet can get back to normal.”

“Yes. I need him to get bonded as soon as possible. I…” his father trailed off.

The truth was … his father’s sickness was getting worse, and he was desperate to get Holi bonded as soon as possible.

Holi blinked rapidly as tears filled his eyes. He wrapped his arm around his father, feeling bad for disappointing him. He was trying so hard to get him bonded, but he was messing it up.

Dammit.

He really had to try harder.

“I understand. I’m going to do everything I can to help your son. I’ve trained a lot of omegas to reach their full potential and most importantly attract a wealthy alpha. Now, let’s begin.” Hamin walked to the other side of the room and waved Holi forward. “Walk to me.”

What? Holi looked from Hamin to his father, confused. His father gave him an encouraging nod.

“The way you walk into a room can make or break you. It means getting noticed or ignored for an entire night. Walk to me,” Hamin said.

Holi did as he was told. He nervously walked to the omega.

“Eyes on me Holi, chin up. Shoulders straight. Walk like you own the damn room. Yes, that’s it,” Hamin said, walking to him.
