“What do you mean?” Yellow asked.
“You have to meet him to understand. My father told me it’s because he’s a Covus alpha. What does that even mean?”
“I heard he paid for an entire floor at a lodging because he didn’t want to be close to anyone,” Blue said.
“That’s not bad,” Yellow said. “Some alphas are sensitive.”
“The very next hour he paid for the entire building, chasing everyone out.”
“Why?”
“Who knows? He’s the devil himself.”
“No. He’s a beast,” Red added. “I heard he can only be with service omegas because they get paid. If it wasn’t for the credit, no one would be with him.”
“Is he that bad?” Yellow asked.
Blue nodded.
Yellow gasped fearfully. “I don’t want to bond with him.”
“We all don’t,” Red said anxiously. “But our parents owe master Covus. And we’ve been summoned. If his Xaine Covus chooses either one of us, we have no choice but to bond with him.”
Holi stared at the omegas feeling sorry for them. What was wrong with rich parents forcing their children to bond with someone they don’t like? He might be poor, but at least he had the power to choose who he wanted to bond with.
Holi turned to the bar and got a drink for his father, then walked back to where he’d left him. But his father wasn’t there. Holi started to panic when he didn’t find him anywhere in the party hall. He gulped down his father’s drink to calm his nerves.
Where did he go?
Holi looked around. The double doors leading deep into the massive house caught his eye. But Holi couldn’t just walk in there. Guests had to remain in the party hall.
Time ticked by. And Holi felt weird standing there alone. He already felt out of place in the massive house. Now that his father wasn’t there with him, the feeling grew. Agitated, Holi shifted from one foot to the other. A handsome alpha approached him. Holi panicked, his mind going blank.
“Hi,” the alpha said.
“Blamblimp,” came out of Holi’s mouth as he tried to form words. Holi cringed, mortified. He turned and ran towards the double doors.
The hallway was dimly lit and eerily silent. Holi nervously rubbed his arms, looking around him for any soul to tell him where his father was, but there was no one.
Holi blindly rushed down the hallway. Turning a corner, he slammed into something. A scream formed and died in his throat as his knees buckled from the impact.
He was falling.
Holi reached for whatever was in front of him. His fingers grasped a cloth and pulled to steady himself. Large hands closed around his wrists and held him steady.
Holi looked up and gasped. Piercing golden-green eyes stared down at him. Holi’s heart skipped a beat.
Were the alpha’s eyes glowing or was it just him?
“Who the hell are you? And what are you doing here?” The alpha roughly bit out in a deep sexy voice.
Holi gulped and tried to step back, but the alpha’s hands tightened around his wrists, pulling him close. So close, Holi could see the swirling golden glow in a pool of green.
Yeap, the alpha’s eyes were glowing.
They were strange yet mesmerizing. Holi couldn’t look away. They were beautiful and deep. Enticing Holi to look deeper as if there were something lurking in their depth. But the rest of him… Holi paled as he took in his massive shoulders and large frame.
The alpha was huge. There was no mistaking what he was. Aggressive alphas were known for their large frames and overwhelming presence. And this alpha had all of that in spades. His scent filled the space, bombarding Holi’s senses. All Holi could smell was him.
