“Alright. It’s real simple. All you have to do is pull the rope to reveal the color. So, on the count of three, Buck, I need you to pull the rope so we can find out what we’re having.” Mel was just as excited about this baby as I was, if not more. “Okay. One…tw—” She didn’t even get to three before Buck was pulling the rope and the curtains opened. Behind them was a brand new Lincoln Nautilus Black Label. It was blue and Buck was going crazy, beating on his chest like a damn fool before kissing me.

“Lawd why?” Mel fake cried. “I don’t think I can deal with another Buck.” She shook her head but the whole time she had a smile on her face.

“Yeah! I got my boy!” He yelled. “Give me my money, nigga!”

“I ain’t giving you sh—nothing. I’ll give it to Nic first,” Stacks countered. He ignored Buck talking shit and came over to give me a hug and congratulated me.

“Shit, that’ll work too.” I guess his mama let him slide because he was celebrating, otherwise she would’ve popped him upside the head.

“Congratulations, baby.” My mama came to hug me with tears in her eyes.

“Thanks, mama.”

“Nic, I’m gone have a nephew?” Keenan asked.

“Yep. You think you can handle that?” I questioned.

“Hell yeah. I can,” he boasted, causing my mama to pop him in the mouth. Between Buck and Keenan’s bad ass, my baby was doomed.

“Congratulations, sis. I wanted a niece, but I guess I can deal with a nephew.” Mel stated with a hug.

“You’on have a choice.” Buck came over and placed his hands on my stomach before kissing my lips. “Thank you for this. For my son,” he expressed. Before I could respond, Kasha came over.

“Uhm, Buck. Can I talk to you for a minute?” I saw the worried look on her face and that Buck’s attention immediately.

“Bae, let me holla at Kash real quick. I’ll be back in a minute.” He kissed my lips once more before walking off to talk to Kasha. I watched him until they disappeared.

“Congratulations, cuz. Make sure you let me know what you need for the lil’ homie. I got you.” Saint came over and hugged me.

“And let me know if you need a babysitter. Heir’s lil bad ass be acting funny with me now.” Harlow rolled her eyes at the mention of her nephew.

“Watch that shit. He ain’t acting funny. You just get on everybody’s nerves,” Saint countered.

“Girl, did you know how hard it was for me not to tell you or Saint what you were having?” Eve input. “I almost slipped up and told him one day, but I had to quickly recover.” Saint argued the fact that she shouldn’t be keeping secrets from her husband. He didn’t give a damn about a HIPPA law.

Mrs. Shaunie came through the crowd and found me. She had her husband in tow and they both looked happy about the results.

“I can’t wait ’til my grandbaby gets here. He’s gonna be so spoiled.” She gushed.

“Just like his spoiled ass daddy. Nic, baby. You have my sympathy,” his father retorted with a snort before pulling me into a hug.

Buck walked back up with a scowl on his face. I didn’t know what that was about, but whatever it was, it couldn’t be good.

“What’s wrong, son?” his dad asked.

Ignoring him, he pulled me off to the side.

“What’s wrong?” I searched his face for any indication of what could be wrong.

“I need to leave and go handle some shit. Kasha’s baby daddy finally called her. Me and Stacks gone roll with her so we can get that nigga.” He explained. I hated he had to go, but I understood.

“It’s fine. I’ll stay here for a while before I head home.”

He pulled me into a hug before dropping a kiss on my forehead.

“James is on the way so he can follow you home. Park in the space upfront and I’ll get you a pass for the back entrance tomorrow.” I nodded, and he kissed me again before walking off to his dad.

“You okay?” Mel asked.
