“Let the shit show begin.”

The brief rush that we had was finally over, and I was more than glad. I would use this downtime to catch up on my reading. I just dived into Tacarra’s catalog and these men are everything.

“Damn, excuse you!” I snapped on Tony’s creepy ass. He was standing extremely close to me, and I was two seconds away from giving him a gastric bypass if he didn’t back the fuck up.

“You look real good tonight, Nikki,” he complimented, making me sick to my stomach. He insisted on calling me Nikki when I told him repeatedly it was Nic.

“Tony, back up,” I urged. “And why are you in here?”

I tried to move around him, but he gripped my biceps, halting my steps.

“I just want to talk.”

“That doesn’t involve you touching me,” I spat, snatching my arm away from him.

“C’mon, Nic. I’ll pay you if that’s what you want.” He reached up to touch my face, but I knocked his hand away before he could.

“Nigga, don’t ever insult me like that again. Fuck you and your money!”

This nigga had really lost his mind.

“Listen, I can make shit real easy for you if you just give me what I’m looking for.” He had a creepy ass smirk on his face that I was milliseconds from knocking it off.

“Tony, I’m gone tell you one more time to back the fuck up. I don’t know who you take me for but I ain’t her,” I spat.

“Listen, you lil’ bi—argh!”

Before he could finish his sentence, I kicked him in the dick since he couldn’t keep his hands to himself.

“Don’t ever put your gah damn hands on me again.” I turned around to walk away but forgot I had one more thing to say. “I quit.” With that, I left out of the diner without even looking back. I heard Lacy calling me, but I ignored her ass, too.

Instead of calling a rideshare like I intended to do when I left work, I went to the nearby Walgreen’s so that I could change clothes. I would catch the rideshare from there and have a drink or two to forget this bullshit of a night, and if I was lucky, I’d be able to get a glance at Buck tonight.

When I arrived at the sports bar, it was crowded. I had every intention of sitting at a table and watch everything from the shadows, but I had no such luck. Every table in the establishment was full, leaving me to sit at the bar. Finding an empty stool at the far end, I sat my things next to me and waited for the bartender to come and take my order.

“Hey,” the bartender spoke as she stood in front of me. She was beautiful and had an ass that I could see from the front. I know her tips were hella good. I mean, my body was nice, but not that nice. “What can I get you?”

Smiling, I ordered a double 1800 margarita. After the bullshit I endured tonight, I needed it. Feeling my phone vibrating in my hand, I looked down and saw it was Tony texting me.

Creep Ass Tony: You can’t leave before your shift is over, Nic.

Nigga, fuck you and that shift.

I saw the three bubbles appear, but I didn’t give him a chance to reply before I blocked him. He better be glad all I did was kick him in his nuts. I had every mind to call my cousin Saint to come and beat his ass.

The bartender brought my drink and sat it in front of me. When she left, I let my eyes rest on the TV that was closest to me. Andros Carlson was really doing his thing out on the field. Just as I was getting into the game, the hairs on my arms starting standing like little antennas. When I looked up, I had to be dreaming because it looked like Buck DeLuca himself was walking in my direction. Everything about this man was perfect. He stood every bit of six plus feet with a solid, athletic build. He had his dark, thick locs piled on the top of his head. The two Cuban link chains he wore around his neck weren’t flashy or gaudy, but they made a statement, along with the small diamond hoops that sparkled in his ears. His body looked like it was littered with tattoos. That had me wondering which parts of him were decorated. When he stopped directly in front of me, my breathing hitched, and I felt like I could pass out at any moment.

“This ya lucky night, shorty. Grab ya shit and roll wit’ me,” was all he said before he turned around to leave. I peeped the interaction between him and the bartender that served me and by the look on her face, she didn’t like him talking to me. Oh, well. Tonight was finally my night, and I was going to take full advantage of it. I needed it after the night I just had.

I quickly downed the rest of my drink and placed the money for my tab and a tip on the counter.

“Don’t think you’re special. He fucks every bitch with a hole,” she responded snidely.

“Well, I guess that makes me extra special because I got three and he can do whatever he wants with them.” I winked at her shiesty ass and took my tip back. Fuck her. I walked toward the back where I saw him go and stood by the door. While I waited, I passed the time scrolling on my phone to calm my nerves. My skin covered in goosebumps again, so I knew he was close.

“Come on,” was all he said when he approached me. Doing as I was told; I followed behind him to a nice ass truck I couldn’t even afford to look at, but I still got inside. I couldn’t believe my wildest dream was actually about to come true. I was on Cloud Nine, and I was definitely gone make the best of it.
