“This ya lucky night, shorty. Grab ya shit and come roll wit’ me.” I didn’t have to do much, because these bitches couldn’t wait to say they had the ‘Buck Experience’, whether or not they ever experienced it again.

Turning on my heels, I almost knocked Armani over.

“Gah damn. The fuck you all on a nigga back for?” I frowned.

“I—here’s the list,” she stammered.

I peered down at her and took the list from her. “Aight. Back up.” Walking around her, I took the list to Kasha’s office. I didn’t see her, but I knew she was ’round here somewhere. When I made it back, I headed toward Stacks, who was back at the bar, eating an order of wings.

“Aye, I’m out. You can take my car, but don’t scratch my shit. If you do, I’m shooting you and telling mommy you started with me. You know I’m her favorite.” I smirked. “Jaz, you can leave after the rush unless you wanna stay. That’s up to Kasha.”

I kept a spare car at both spots at all times. I never knew when I needed to switch shit, or like now, when my brother needed a ride. He was always on that damn bike, anyway.

“Nigga, fuck yo’ shit.” He smirked.

Sharing a laugh, I dapped my baby brother up and headed to find shorty. When I made it upfront, she was standing up by the door, looking down at her phone.

“Come on,” was all I said. I didn’t see the need in asking was she ready, because that part was clear.

I hope she enjoyed this shit because it was gone be outta sight, outta mind once I got my nut.

Chapter Two

Nicari (Nuh-Car-Ree) ‘Nic’ Sanders

earlier that day…

IthoughtIwouldgetcaught up on some reading today, but that was short-lived when Tony called me into work today. I hated my job, but I hated Tony’s ass even more. He was a fuckin’ creep, but I needed my job, so I ignored all his unwarranted advances. I worked at a small diner here in Cannon Hills. It was one of the few places that didn’t pay the servers less than minimum wage and the tips were alright. At twenty-five, I moved back home with my mama, Keena, and ten-year-old brother, Keenan after I found out that my boyfriend, Jerren, cheated and had a baby on the way. We were only together for three years, but I was crazy in love and moved in with him. When I found out about the baby, I moved all my shit out and came back home. I even left the car that he brought me. I didn’t want shit to do with that nigga. I could’ve moved in with my older sister, Jameala (Juh-Meel-Luh), or Mel, as we called her, but she only had two rooms, and one was for Keenan when he came over. I was fine right here because I didn’t have to pay bills really, but I gave my mama two hundred dollars a month. When I didn’t have it, she didn’t hassle me. I’d just be on babysitting duty with my little brother more than I already was, which was rare. Between me, Mel, and our mama, he was spoiled rotten.

Once I got dressed in my uniform, I grabbed my bag that was stuffed with a change of clothes, shoes, and my iPad. I planned on going to Linc’s tonight, hoping to lay my eyes on Buck. Buck DeLuca was the kind of man that your parents warned you about, yet I feigned for this man from afar. I’ve had a crush on him for as long as I can remember, since high school. He had a reputation of sleeping with girls and never talking to them again. As horrible as it sounded, I wanted a piece of that then and I still want it now, even if it was only in my dreams. That man could fold me into an Auntie Annie pretzel and throw me out on my ass afterward and I’d be satisfied. When I walked out of my room, I went to my mama’s and knocked on her door.

“Come in!” I entered after she granted my permission and found her in bed watching one of her shows. “I thought you were off today?” she asked, taking in my work uniform.

“Yeah, I thought I was too. Tony called and asked me to come in. I have to close.”

“His square ass head makes me sick. Be careful,” she warned like she always did when I left the house.

My rideshare pulled up right after I left out my mama’s room. I heard Keenan in his room playing his game, so I didn’t bother him. After verifying my ride, I got in and headed to the place I referred to as hell.

***

Walking into the diner, it was almost empty. I knew this would be some bullshit. It was the playoffs, and he only had one TV in here and didn’t serve alcohol. Nobody was coming here. After putting my things in my locker, I headed back out but was stopped in my tracks by Tony’s big ass in my space.

“Uhm, back up.” I frowned, taking a step back.

“You smell good, baby girl. What’s that you’re wearing?” His old ass flirted.

“It’s called back the fuck off me ’fore I cut you,” I snapped.

Laughing me off, he moved to the side to allow me to walk by. When I got back up front, Lacy, the other waitress, was already at the register.

“Hey, girl. Am I glad to see you.” She smiled.

“I bet. Let me guess, Joi called out again?” I rolled my eyes to the back of my head because that bitch swear she didn’t have to work because Tony was her uncle, and his stupid ass made her feel like she was right.

“You know it,” she affirmed. “I’m glad he called you in though and not Monique’s stuck up ass. She’s gone fuck around and find her face on the flat grill one day.” We shared a laugh as I tied my apron around my waist.
