“Yeah, aight. You ain’t answer the question though. How’s it going?” he asked again.

I ran the whole situation down with me and Goldie down and I even explained how I was feeling about her now. I knew I couldn’t tell Stacks this shit because he would clown me, but Kilo was my big brother, and I confided in that nigga about everything. He’s the only one that knew what really went down with my ex, Joi. Bitch was a dirty cum-bucket that used me as a come-up, for her and her jackboy boyfriend. Bitch had me treating her like a Queen for two years just for me to find out that she was taking everything that I was giving her and giving it to that nigga. When I found out that they were setting me up to get robbed, I let them think their lil’ plan was gone follow through. She was with me at Vault, and I was getting ready to close. I usually have my people stick around, but I assured them I was good. She lied about having to go to the bathroom and I went into my office. When I heard the nigga walk in, I didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger. I made sure I didn’t have my silencer attached, because I wanted Joi to hear the shot. Just like I thought she would, she ran toward the office, thinking I was the one that was shot. When she came inside and saw it was me holding the gun, the tears immediately started. I didn’t want to hear shit. I didn’t care why she did it. I just knew that I wasn’t gone give her or another bitch the opportunity to play with me again. I killed her ass right there and got rid of their damn bodies. I played the part of the heart-broken boyfriend and all. In actuality, I was. I loved her and she fucked me over. I hope she and that nigga are rotting in hell as we speak.

“Leave it to you, to fuck another random and caught feelings,” he laughed.

“Fuck you. I’ain say shit about feelings. I said I couldn’t shake shorty,” I clarified.

“Same shit. What you gone do about it, though?”

“I’ain doing shit. Fuck that love shit. The pussy was good and all, but I’m good. Double-dipping gets you in your feelings and I’m good on that shit.”

“If you say so.”

I chopped it up with my brother a little longer before I finished up and took my ass home. I didn’t even feel like being bothered, so I turned all my phones off and drifted off to sleep with thoughts of Goldie going through my head.

Nicari

sometime later…

Todaywasmydayoff, but Kasha called and said they needed me to fill in for Jazz. I had nothing else planned so making money didn’t sound too bad. The only downside was that I knew I would be working with Armani, and for her sake, she better hope I don’t bash her head in with a liquor bottle. While I got dressed, my mind wandered to Buck. He didn’t say much at work, unless it had something to do with the bar, but I would catch him looking at me, but that was as far as it went. I’m not even mad, though. After Aiden had a baby on me, I was determined to live my life carefree. Sleeping with Buck DeLuca has always been on my list, and now that I’ve scratched it off, I’m good.

Once I was dressed and ready to go, I grabbed my bag and headed to meet the rideshare. It was Saturday, so Mama and Keenan were home.

“Nic, you work at a strip club?” my little brother asked when I came into the living room.

“Boy, what?” I laughed.

“Keenan, what the hell you know about a strip club?” mama asked.

“I know Nic looks like she works at one.”

“Lil’ boy, I should put my foot in your butt because I feel like you’re slick tryna call me a hoe.” I smirked.

He shrugged, causing me to laugh at his bad ass

“I thought you were off?” mama asked.

“I was, but someone called out. You know I’m always the go-to when that happens.”

It was true. Even when I worked for Tony’s perverted ass, I was always the on-call person.

After saying goodbye to my mama and brother, I left in the rideshare and headed to Linc’s. When I got there, the parking lot was already packed. That meant that I wouldn’t be getting a break anytime soon, but the tips would make up for that. Getting out, I headed in through the employee entrance that was located in the back. Once I made it inside and put my things in the employee lounge, I left to go take my position at the bar. When I walked out, I ran right into Buck.

“Oh, my bad,” I apologized. He didn’t respond, but I noticed the way his eyes traveled the length of my frame, causing my cheeks to flush. Pivoting on my heels, I left him standing there and went to work.

The crowd was thick and all you could hear were crazy fans yelling at the TVs. The bar was just as crowded, so I got right into position and started fixing drinks. Even though I didn’t like Armani, I wouldn’t neglect my job and leave her hanging.

After about an hour, the crowd had somewhat calmed down, so I could finally take a break. I went to the far end of the bar where I usually posted up and leaned against the counter behind me. Looking up, I felt eyes on me and sure enough, Buck was talking to Kasha, but his eyes were on me. That was the thing that confused me with Buck. He was notorious for giving you the cold shoulder after he sleeps with a girl, but the way I always catch him looking at me, I could swear that he was feeling me. Maybe it was just wishful thinking. Tearing my eyes away from his, I pulled my phone from out of my back pocket to scroll social media. I saw yet another message from an unknown page, and I knew it was Aiden trying to reach out once again. I didn’t even bother to open it. I deleted it and blocked that page too.

“Goldie!” I heard the nickname that Buck gave me and looked in that direction. When I saw him walking my way, I felt like I was about to throw up. He stopped right before he got to me, and I swear the smell of his Versace Eros had my knees buckling and my stomach churning at the same time. “I got a meeting in a few and I want you to wait on us,” he instructed.

Before I could answer, Armani’s stiff bob wearing ass spoke up.

“Buck, I thought I always waited on you when you had meetings?” she voiced.
