Orion grumbled something, clearly not up for my witty banter this early in the morning, and took the lead. As we got moving, I noticed an uncomfortable lump between my legs.

‘How do you walk with this thing?’I asked, widening my stride until I felt like one of those old timey cowboys. ‘Seriously, I’m worried I’m going to crush it or something.’

Niko’s laugh echoed through our head. ‘Just walk, babe. It’ll take care of itself.’

Trusting he would know better, I tried to walk a bit more normally and caught up with Orion.

“So, any ideas where to start when we get to the library?” I asked, turning to Orion and accidentally brushing my wrist across the front of my zipper. Something moved!

“I figured I’d start by asking the librarian...”

Orion kept talking, but I wasn’t paying attention anymore. Who knew dicks had a mind of their own! It was like a puppy looking for a pat the way it was sitting up under my hand.

Sheesh, false advertising. I could feel Niko moving around in the back of our shared minds and wondered how much of my stream of consciousness he was picking up on.

‘All of it, babe. Every word.’He sounded exhausted, and I decided a stop at Jewels before we went back to the cemetery was in order.

Orion pulled out several books and claimed a spot at a nearby table to begin sorting through the information that, hopefully, would help us stop Alisdair and save everyone.
