He nodded mutely, and I took pity on him—kind of—and went and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.
Ok, so it was partially so the ass couldn’t make some boo sheet up later about his imagining my presence. He startled, as though an electrical current had run through him, and slapped a hand on the spot. His eyes grew impossibly larger. I took advantage of his shock and herded him from the clearing, sending him on his way home.
Niko was silent throughout the departure, sinking slowly into a cross-legged position beside my headstone and caressing it absently, as though it brought him some level of comfort.
“Keep stroking that thing much longer, imma start thinking you’re assuring yourself I’m really dead,” I joked.
It fell flat. Seriously, why didn’t people get my jokes?
We lay back down on my grave and watched the stars pass overhead. Eventually I felt the temperature drop and knew dawn was coming; and with it...
Graceful, my sister was not. The crash of her steps could be heard clear across the cemetery. I leaped to my feet as she entered my clearing and bolted to her, screeching to a stop before I knocked her on her ass.
“Thank Casper you’re here. I have to know. Are my shoes all right? I haven’t been able to sleep from the worry.”
“Hey!” Niko exclaimed indignantly.
“Ok fine, I mostly didn’t sleep because Niko was boning me good, but also the shoes.”
“Oh, my god!” Birdie screamed, slapping her palms to her ears. “Ok, first, I know damn well you don’t sleep as a ghost. And second, how many times do I need to tell you? I do not want to hear anything about your sex life!”
I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest and raising a meaningful eyebrow. She knew what I wanted. She could spill, or I would get waaaaay more graphic on the amazing dicking Niko delivered.
It took a moment, and I was just about done choreographing my interpretive dance when, with an eye roll, she opened her satchel and pulled out my lovelies.
“Oh! My babies, did you miss me?” I cooed at them, and I could tell they were happy to be back with me. Yes, I was using a buttload of energy to hold the things, but they were worth it.
“Serious. Problem,” Birdie muttered before moving to take a load off near Niko in the soft grass.
“So tell me a story. What’s the gossip in the graveyard?”
I thought for a moment. “Well, I did see something.” I explained the bizarre magic Father Dare had performed, and the subsequent disappearance of the little ghost boy.
“Weird, right? It didn’t look like any exorcism I’ve ever heard of. Niko? Do you know anything about it?” It was odd how comfortable I felt deferring to my new boo—heh, that one would not get old—but considering the day we’d had... okay, it was the sex. He had absolutely blown my mind with sex, and I wanted more.
Secretly, I wondered what it would be like to be with the other two, but I was trying to be happy with what I had. It was hard. I really wanted my ‘why choose’ moment.
Then again, Orion needed to stop being such a dick... and not the good kind that stretched you nicely and bent just slightly to the left...
Damn it, Jace, focus.
Niko had said something while I was pondering figurative and literal penises... penii... for Ghoul’s sake. Dicks. I was going with dicks. His brow furrowed over those beautiful, mismatched eyes, and I wondered if he would fall for a smile and nod.
“She didn’t listen to a word I just said, did she?”
Birdie shook her head with a small grin. Traitor. I would totally lie for her.
I told her so, and she snorted.
I had no confidence she agreed.
Sisters.
CHAPTER 16
Skyler
“What are you doing?”Orion asked.
