“Can I have your number?” he asked, in a voice thick with arousal. A quick glance at his hips showed some definite thickening in the penile region.

“You don’t have a pen,” I said with a laugh, indicating his unclothed state. His responding grin was devilish and completely unapologetic. “You think I could forget anything about you?”

Thump thump thump

Hear that? That was my heart throwing itself at this man’s feet.

Squelch squelch squelch

And that? That was my pussy deciding it was time to get her V card stamped once and for all.

And she knew just the man for the job.

Chapter Six

Tase

“Honey, I’m home!” I hollered as I slid into the apartment I shared with Dion.

“Where the fuck did you go?” Came his loving reply as he rounded the corner from the kitchen, stopping short. “Naked and hard. What have you been up to?”

Our small two-bedroom was not your typical bachelor pad. No alcohol bottles or sports magazines strewn around, it was neat as a pin and industrial chic. Mostly the former was because of compulsive tendencies on my roomie’s part. The latter? Easier to keep clean and no need for personal touches. We had lived here for the better part of the last decade and joked that we had become life partners without having made the decision. If we played it up and kept people guessing... well, it was their own damn fault for being nosy. My mothers taught me to be liberal and not to judge someone on their sexual orientation.

Of course, that thought led me to think of the town bigot, and the genius execution of my latest move. It had taken me ages to find that color pink in a permanent hair dye, none of that semi-permanent shit for me.

It was tiring fighting a battle on so many fronts, but someone had to do it. If I had more encounters like this evening’s festivities, I would be ready and energized for anything.

What a firecracker.

Oh... Dion had asked me a question.

As it occurred to me how long I had been standing in the doorway lost in thought, I waltzed over to the sofa and flopped down with a sigh. “Falling in love, my friend. I’ve been falling in love.”

He snorted and joined me, not so subtly throwing a cushion in my lap.

“Your kelpie didn’t break into the Ranch and mount a filly, did he? That’s kind of rank, man, even for you.”

“Actually, I was the one who got mounted...” I muttered.

Dion sat back with a small frown of confusion. With his middle finger, he pushed his glasses up his nose. Fuck, he had been worried. I dropped the joking and got real with him.

“I just needed to run, bro. I met up with that redhead who was at the club the other night. The one that made friends with Newt?”

“The one that screamed stalker chick? Yeah, I remember. You screwed her then?”

I threw my cushion at him and got up for a beer. Dion was my best friend, like a brother, but he hadn’t been the same around women since Tammilyn. None of us had, honestly, but I had a good feeling about this one.

“No, and you don’t need to be a dick.”

“I wish I didn’t have to talk to your dick. Could you put some pants on?”

Dion was a king of deflection. He couldn’t give two shits that I had my dick out. Honestly, I was unclothed more often than not. Shirts chafed, and I didn’t keep my clothes when I shifted, anyway. What he did care about was any of us, Ren included, getting too close to women. There had been an... incident... involving Newt’s mother, and none of us were likely to forget anytime soon. For that reason, I was determined to have this conversation. I lobbed a beer bottle at his back, which he caught expertly with a wry grin, and opened my own as I wandered back to my seat.

“I want you to take her to coffee. Get to know her. It will be different this time because we will all be aware of what’s going on,” I said.

Dion grimaced and removed the cap from his own beverage. By all rights, there should have been beer everywhere with the way it had been shaken, but when in the hands of a satyr... let’s just say he was always the life of the party. His job as a bartender was more of a spiritual calling than just a paycheck.

“She’s already getting under Ren’s skin, and now yours too?”
