“Your turn, please,” she begged, dying to feel him come undone inside her.

He let his eyes drift closed as he thrust into her, her pussy still convulsing from the orgasm that had washed through her.

“God, Erin,” he breathed as she felt him tense. He gripped her thighs tighter as he fell over the edge. She watched his face distort with pure pleasure, loving the way his features tightened. Loving that her body did that to him.

When the tremors subsided, he eased out of her and collapsed on the bed beside her.

They lay like that for several minutes before he rolled off the bed to discard the condom.

"Now that you're in a more agreeable mood, maybe you'll revisit my request that we get out of town for Christmas,” he said when he got back.

Erin flopped onto her stomach and rested her chin on her folded arms. "I understand that you want to get out of town. I just don't see why it has to be less than two weeks before Senator Ware gets sworn in. And what about Christmas with your Dad? I thought that was a big deal." Erin didn’t even bother mentioning that she’d also planned on spending part of Christmas with Trinity.

Samuel trailed a finger down her cheek. "I'm not asking you to disappear like I did when we first met, baby girl. We're not going off the grid. Just getting out of town."

"And then something will land the senator in the news and I won't be here to manage the cycle."

"So let's go to Colorado. You can be close to her offices there and manage anything that comes up."

Erin sighed. "I don't know. I was looking forward to Christmas in D.C."

Samuel's hand roamed her still naked body as he pondered her request. "I want to give you the Christmas you want. But I know how you are, and you'll wind up working if we stay in town. You've built a solid team. Trust them to do their jobs. Twice since we got together, your boss has given you time off and both times you either didn't take it or you went back to work early. I'm just ready for some uninterrupted time with you."

His hand settled on the curve of her ass and Erin gave a little groan. She loved the way his hands fit on her body so perfectly.

"I'm just worried. This is the biggest job I've ever had. Are you sure you're not just bored?"

He sat up and stared down at her. "What's that supposed to mean?"

She gave a one-shouldered shrug. "You're so used to always leaving town and flying off to secret locations for covert missions or whatever and now that you're retired from the military you're in an office. It has to be boring. And I'm sure I'm not..."

He touched a finger to her lips. "Let me stop you right there. What have I told you about second guessing us?"

"Not to," she finally muttered.

"I'm not bored, baby girl. Not with you, not with my job. I still get to do a little of covert work. Just last week I worked a case for Peter Mercer's team. I'm good. I promise. All I want is five days out of town with my girl."

"We could go after the swearing in."

Samuel rolled off the bed and walked to the small desk in the corner of her room and picked up a tablet she had charging there. Erin was too distracted by his perfectly sculpted backside to ask what he was doing.

He sat on the bed next to her and swiped at the screen until her calendar came up.

"January third, swearing in. Then you literally have everything blocked out from the third until mid-April."

She scrambled to sit up next to him and examine her calendar. "After the swearing in we have to prep for the presidential inauguration. Then we have to prep for her first committee hearings. The State of the Union is slated for March and mid April marks the end of her first hundred days. This is the job."

As she spoke, she realized just how ridiculous it sounded.

How could she not give him a few days away?

She took the tablet from him and swiped back to December.

"I can rearrange things and we can go somewhere for a few days. I just can't promise it will be on Christmas."

He still didn't seem satisfied.

"Why is Christmas so important to you?"
