“No?”

“Then her time is still going.”

“Don’t talk to me like I’m Lucas.”

“Then don’t act like you’re five.” Cooper shrugs, and for a moment I sort of want to punch him.

“I’m not a child,” I pout.

“Want me to repeat myself?”

I just flip him off, but thankfully his phone starts making noise.

The timer is up.

I immediately look up, locking eyes with Cooper as I push past him and press the button of the elevator, thankful that it pops right open.

“Wait!” Cooper shouts. “She hasn’t texted me.”

“I agreed to twenty minutes, Coop, nothing else,” I grumble as I take out the key card Ally got from the front desk and press the seven, Cooper shoving himself in next to me.

I’m not sure how she did it, but somehow Ally convinced the lady at the front desk that she was Quinn and had just locked herself out of her room. Whatever works I guess, but I really hate their lack of security. Another reason why Quinn can’t stay here again and needs to be home.

It’s safe.

“Levi, please don’t get me yelled at when I offered to drive her home.”

“Whydid you offer to help her when she scares you?” I ask as the elevator doors open, and I’m shocked to see Cooper blush.

Does he have a crush on my ex?

Not that I give a fuck…it’s just surprising because I don’t think Cooper has had a crush onanyonesince Lyla left three years ago when Lucas was two. Don’t get me wrong, I kind of dig it, but it’s weird that the first time it happens, it’s Ally?

“Don’t ignore me,” I poke as we walk down the hall, Cooper typing something on his phone before looking up with a grin.

“I like ’em a little mean. It turns me on,” he says, and I just laugh as we look for room 712. After going down the hall and taking a right, we get to the room, and I look at Cooper.

“Stay here,” I command.

“What’s the magic word?” Cooper deadpans.

“Cooper, I swear to God if you start treating me like your five-year-old, I’m going to fuck you up the next time we’re on the ice. I’ll makeyoucallmedaddy, motherfucker,” I grumble before scanning the card and pushing in the door, not even bothering to knock.

If I know Cooper, he’s already called Ally, so I’m sure they were expecting me any second. I also don’t want to give her a chance to sneak out because if there’s something going on, I want to know. I need to make sure she’s okay.

But when I open the door, I’m surprised to see the two of them just smirking at me like they know a secret I don’t. It almost makes me uneasy, but based on the smile the two of them share, it doesn’t feel like it’s necessarily a bad thing, so I’m going to let it slide.

“Hi,” I say nervously as I shut the door on Cooper, who of course was trying to follow me in. I don’t miss Ally’s giggle, but it’s quickly gone as soon as she looks back at Quinn.

Quinn’s just sitting there smiling at me like she didn’t just leave me stressed out for damn near twelve hours. I was thinking a million different things—each one worse than the last. It killed me not knowing what was going on.

“Hi,” Quinn says with a little smile as she sits with crisscrossed legs on her bed in a robe and panties, yet somehow she makes this look classy.

“Is that all you’re going to say?” I ask, glaring as she looks between me and Ally.

“Ally’s here. We were catching up for a bit before you came in,” Quinn says, and I’m getting the vibe that there’s nothing wrong—at least not anymore. I’m also picking up on a playfulness in her tone that has my dick hardening immediately.

“Actually, I was just leaving,” Ally says quickly, her eyes bouncing back and forth between us. “It looks like you two have a lot to talk about.”
